Kenny no rib injury excuse?

Come on, Every person in the world knows Kenny Pickett with never be Josh Allen on his worst day. And Josh Allen will never be a Big Ben on his worst day. Allen is decent but for the most part a media darling who loses the big games, if anything the Bills are regressing like Pittsburgh.

On his worse day? Sure he could be that, I am 100 percent confident.

On his best day? Maybe not.

But if Kenny can be 4th quarter Kenny I might be happy with that.
 
4th quarter Kenny is way overhyped most likely due to him looking so bad the other 3 quarters. He wouldn't be 4th quarter kenny without a +10 turnover differential and Jaylen Warren and even Najee Harris to some extent. They aren't winning because of kenny
 
So like Ive said a million times now… pickett is an enigma… his splits make zero sense unless it’s coaching scheme related

His first half rating is 69. His second half rating is 95

His rate in the final four minutes trailing is 152

But there are tons of telling stats… for instance his completion percentage is about 65% when tied or trailing ( a little over 65 when tied, a little under when trailing)

With a lead, it drops to under 50% because all we do is throw low% super safe passes that are more about not throwing a pick than gaining yards…

If you don’t believe me then go back and look at Ben’s final year splits… many of the same patterns… a first half rating in the 70’s, a second in the 90’s, a completion % of 67% when trailing but only 57% when leading…

I mean look, Im not saying anything about Pickett being a long term solution or not, but 99% of the offense’s issues have zero to do with the players… people bitched about Ben suddenly not being able to read a defense in his later years too… it is just designed to ignore reads over the middle early in games… its not misread… those routes are just blacked out… decoys only… which is why they are so open often… analysts know what is going on..

This isn't true.

We b*tched about his lack of arm strength (rightfully so, after his injury), and lack of mobility.
 
I just can't determine the value of Pickett (or anyone else on the offense) until I see them in an actual NFL offensive scheme. He has only had more than a few seconds behind our "elite" OL until recently too. Same as BB when he was behind it...led the league in shortest time to pass attempts as I recall >2.0 seconds.

Anything else is just "projection" IMO, nobody has shined in this simpleton offense, including BB. Ben did look better but also had the benefit of changing the plays himself at times, which KP does not.
 
Just remember that every game the Steelers win increases the likelihood that Matt Canada returns. A double edged sword indeed.

Are there stats out there for other QBs as well? We see last-minute drives every week with these close games that the NFL likes.

Sure there is better and worse out there.

Would that change the 4th quarter outlook?

For me it wouldn't any more that it changes my perception that he needs to improve outside of that.

You could see that by the time the season was over he wasn't an NFL capable QB. A great athlete but not a great QB.

I am starting to feel Kenny Pickett is Tim Tebow 2.0.

In Tim's first two seasons he was 46.5 and 50 percent completion percentage.

Kenny 63 and 61 so far...
 
Meh I looked up Tebows comebacks… a couple were legit… one was a brady special aka a turnover in field goal range , a ten yard drive and a field goal.. one was pretty impressive in Miami.. but 3 were OT field goal drives… one was a nice drive, but it was just him running for like 70 yards including a 20 yard Td run…
Like someone said… he wasn’t an NFL passer. He probably threw two dozen good passes in his career… and half of those somehow happened in the playoffs vs us..

The in system comparison suggests the Steelers do in fact win more with Kenny. So perhaps that aren't winning because of Kenny comment might be just a little inaccurate.

While I am NOT trying to absolve KP of his shortcomings, I am still not convinced he is the real problem. I am also not completely sold on Canada being the whole problem. I do believe that Tomlin is much more at fault here for the lack of productivity, and it is 100% because of his philosophy.
