Let's get this started...we have this thread every year...

Alabama RB T.J. Yeldon said he's 100 percent healthy. Said he's met with the Seahawks, Eagles, Steelers and Jaguars.

I honestly can't remember. Do the Steelers ever actually draft any of the guys they interview at the combine?

Can we source these visits, please?

yes but it is a mixed bag

as if someone falls, or simply is taken off their board but yes year after year

Look at my latest pre-combine draft in the first.pick thread. Lol

The FO almost always drafts guys they either met with at the combine or have in for a visit. It's rare that we draft someone that we haven't met.

You know I'm a homer; but I've been pimping Yeldon since he was a freshman. Hope we consider him seriously...

I think Yeldon goes too early for where we would be looking for a RB. I figure round 3 -4 depending on how healthy he is.

Which, if they don't bring in a FA to back up Bell, should be around the area we should be looking for a RB. We are going to need someone "capable" if Bell gets a two game suspension. It probably wouldn't be a popular pick that early, but it might be a necessary one.

Jesse James, TE, Penn State - Scott Brown, ESPN
Sean Hickey, OL, Syracuse - Mark Kaboly, Trib

Jesse James measured in at 6'7 261 and did 26 reps on the bench. Impressive for a guy that tall with long arms.

How is his speed and blocking? Love the size, but the Steelers don't need another Spaeth or Kranchick.

Spaeth has been rated as one of the best blocking tight ends in the league. Problem with him is that he doesn't offer much when it comes to catching passes.

He's not a great blocker but he's willing. Few college TEs are good blockers these days. James was always the Y TE, the guy on the line. They had another smaller TE Kyle Carter who was the move TE.

Speed will be the question. I doubt he will be in the 4.5s but if he's 4.7 or under at 6'7 that will be enough. He's a good athlete so i'll be interested to see his vertical and his shuttle times.

There's another Umass TE in this draft, Jean Sifrin. He's a junior. He measured 6'5 245 with 11 inch hands which is huge. It will be interesting to see what he runs.

Looks pretty much like a Kranchick clone to me. Good hands, above average route-runner, below average blocker.

Hickey can play Guard or Tackle. I would take him in rd 4-5 if he is there.

Looks like Nick O'Leary, TE FSU - could be an option for us at TE. He just ran two 4.94 (unofficial 40's) at the combine. Now, while that's slow - the kid CATCHES EVERYTHING and he's got football speed. Here's to hoping he tanked it for us!!!

How tall is O'Leary? We don't need a TE/FB/H-Back hybrid, since we already have one of those that barely sees the field.

I wouldn't cry if we took Yeldon with our 3rd round pick but I just as well rather re-sign Tate and draft Dominique Brown in round 6 to compete for the backup spot. Just my opinion. I think Yeldon is better than Brown or a Jeremy Langford but not that much. The only guy I think has a shot to be "special" is Melvin Gordon and that is mostly predicated on what I think will be a 4.3 - 4.35 forty time. I do hope he runs the 40 just to see what he can do.

They are added as people see them. Eventually, sites like profootballtalk.com compile a list for each team. There will be a final list we can post once the combine and visits finish.
