Gameday Menu

Wings probably...Unable to watch the game from home, thanks Redskins....The sports bar would probably frown on my bringing a crockpot topped off with Steeler Chili. Maybe I could hide it under my jacket.

Fox is showing the game here even though the texans will be on CBS at the same time. I'm glad I can stay home and watch.

Hoping our local affiliates can work out a similar deal. They've done it before but usually towards the end of the season when the Skins' post season hopes are long dead.

The STEELERS hope will remain alive and well, even in the depths of season end............................

So make sure that chillie is big and lasts a long time................

I've got the Sunday Ticket so I'm watching, eating and drinking from home...

Real big weekend for football in Berm's home this weekend - starting w/ Bama hosting Texas!

So, what will I do for food???

Saturday will be burgers w/ fried egg on top w/ lotsa french fries!!! Gameday Sunday...hmmm...I going to try to replicate a Primanti Brother's roast beef, melted cheese, fries and slaw and tomatoes on fresh French bread!!!

My bar is fully stocked so the adult beverages will be flowing🤣😂🤣

Traveling up to Penns Creek for a few days to primitive camp and fly fish with the wifey to celebrate our 31 years together. So, hopefully trout over the open fire.
Congratulations man. Should give her a special gift

Do you have adult supervision to go with those beverages and keep you on the straight and narrow? Hope not.

I’ll be smoking three racks of honey hot ribs. Probably do some bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers as an appetizer.
You still overseas?

Thanks. Appreciate it.
You definitely had good timing on your return with a full week there to get back to Eastern Daylight Time, get reacquainted with the family and with some time to spare before Sunday at 1 rolls around.

Are the Panthers or Redskins normally broadcast on Fox in your neck of the woods? Guessing Panthers.

Is that on the grill? Anywho sounds good...

Usually the Panthers. CBS broadcasts the Steelers here quite a bit.

Probably time to get a smoker after using gas and charcoal for so long. I've had a tough time getting ribs right (Mr V's recipe) on the charcoal grill. For every great batch, I have about 4 that don't exactly fall off the bone. They're more like shoe leather and I know it's because I can't keep an even heat with the Weber charcoal grill. Guessing smokers might offer a more even temp.

I have a Pit Boss pellet smoker. I have a method that takes 4 hours and doesn’t miss. It produces more of a bite through type rib, but still very tender. You can pull the bone out of the meat with ease, but I wouldn’t call it fall off the bone.

Probably a dumb question but does it have a mechanism to load more/less pellets to maintain the temperature you are looking for?

It automatically loads a pellet in. It holds a decent amount of pellets.

I could see the advantages of such a thing.

Honey, I'm going to go out back and slave over the smoker for about 4 hours. I'm only going to have one, maybe two beers. No I'll be good...

Right, so it's like a pellet furnace, just on a much smaller scale.
Don't know much about a pellet furnace. But if that is the same process sure.

I like the smoker but I have to clean out the area the pellet ignites after each time to make sure it doesn't backfire.

Also if you are a first time smoker don't forget to take it off the smoke feature.😅 I did that once.

Yeah the beers help pass time. In Germany when I visit I have a large dark beer each night for dinner (not that large)

I tell you German food and beer, that is when life is good!
