49rs injury woes

So we'll be the only team playing 4 preseason games.
As long as we play as well as we did the first three I don't care.

No just three for the Steelers.

I doubt Bosa’s Holdout carries into the season, but who knows… the real issue is that the 9rs are going to have to short themselves to get some of these guys on IR so they can return later in the season.

The absolutely need a kicker and they have two, but both are likely to miss game 1. One is a mid round draft pick, so he ain’t just getting cut … so that means they have to wait until after cutdown day to replace them and still are going to have to waste one, if not two, spots on a K…

Their 3-6th wrs are all either O or Q… so they may have to keep Anthony Miller as a 7th.
Add to that their Rookie 3rd round pick is having surgery after Friday’s game and they will either have to carry 4 Tes into the season and then IR him or IR him now and lose him for the season..

Their starting Lb is Q but is expected to be back.. however hamstrings are finicky…

Their starting pro bowl safety just had fluid drained from his knee. His immediate Backup is just returning from a shoulder sprain and their fifth safety broke his wrist… they almost will have to ir that guy because they cant go into the game with two banged up safties and only one real healthy backup.

Couple this all with the fact that as a preseason contender, their roster will be picked over for cut talents more thoroughly than most..

No just three for the Steelers.

When we played the easily beatable Browns, we used to joke saying it was like having it an extra bye week.
Well, with the decimated 49'ers and Bosa sitting out, jokingly it takes the form of a 4th pre-season game...San Fran will evaluate how their back-ups fare against our starters!

Tomlin has always played down to lesser competition. Beware of the Tomlin philosophy....keep it close until the 4th quarter.

I actually think if healthy the 9rs game is tge hardest one on the schedule by a landslide. That despite them traveling west to east and playing here. People point to the Bengals, but they are division rivals and that is different from an out of conference contender…

The Steelers should be favored based off pre season, home field advantage etc.

It’s opening day at heinz, acrisure whatever. That front 4 for the Steelers looked good.

If Bosa does come back. I think the Steelers quick passing shown in pre season can contain him. Bosa will stop the run if he is ready to go.

With Bosa currently out and all those injuries, on the road , across the entire country… the 9rs are currently 2.5 favorites.. meaning at home with Bosa they’d be like over seven point favorites…

Less pressure for the boys

Honestly it wouldn’t shock me if the whole division goes 3-3 vs each other… so if we win vs SF and then beat the shitdogs the next week we should be in really good shape to have a strong first half.

Its going to be really hard to beat the Raiders even though they suck. Tomlin isn’t good on the west coast and Vegas is too big a distraction. I definitely am looking at that as a loss… but the texans should be a winnable game. I think we beat the Ratbirds at home too… 3-2 is acceptable but 4-1 is ideal.
The Rams west coast trip is going to be cancelled out by the Tomlin post bye week record…. We should win that
If our offense is competent, we should handle Jacksonville at home.
The Titans on Thursday night are only scary because it’s Thursday and we blow on Thursday… but I mean they should not be good… we need to win that because tge next 3 games will be tough..

We have 10 days to plan for The Packers at home… which should be winnable unless love is really good…
Then we face Tge Browns and bengals on the road… they could both be losses.
The Cardinals are playing to lose this year… the only worry is overlooking them
Then the Pats at home.. but on a Thursday …. I want to win that game just because **** Belicheat but its going to be hard.
Then the Colts, who should be mailing it in by then… then that last 3 game stretch we might not win a single game… hopefully we beat tge Bengals and the last two don’t matter…

Tomlin has never played a regular season NFL game in his life.

They still have Kittle, CMC, and Samuel. None of those are easy matchups for us.
They also have Aiyuk who had over 1,000 yards receiving and Jennings who is another good receiver. Not sure about Elijah Mitchell's health but he is also a very good running back. Couple that with their fullback who is probably the best in the game and had 200 yards receving last year. These guys are loaded offensively and all seem to get involved in almost every game. It's an extremely tough matchup.

Hoping Tj and Highsmith find Purdy purdy early, making the rest of their offense a moot point.
