Cuts

I have them penciled in with 8 olinemen, but I would be happy with them keeping 9…. Id really like them to deal Dotson for a pick if possible and keep BJones, SAndersen and Herbig the elder as tge three backups and potentially cook or clark as tge fourth backup…
Dotson is very much only a guard. Clark has experience at both Guard and Tackle. With a Rookie tackle, i just would like extra redundancy in case he isn’t ready and an injury hits. Andersen can play at but is also a rookie…

This is my prediction. I am not sure about a few. I think they only keep 4 safeties as Riley can play safety in a pinch. If the Steelers keep 8 OL then I think it comes down to Dotson and Clark. I would love to move Dotson for a day 3 pick and keep Anderson but I feel like they try to stash Anderson on the PS. I think Watts and Loudermilk make it. Cam is aging and keeping an extra body is not a bad idea. Muse I just don't think showed enough but if we only keep 8 OL or 6 DL then he probably makes the team. Pierre is on the bubble imo but the fact Norwood has not separated himself I feel Pierre makes the team. Norwood has more flexibility though.

I think only two ps guys can be Vets… and i have a hunch he will get scooped up elsewhere if he gets cut, but yeah it would be a good idea if he could get signed there
I believe the rule is now 6 but it is near impossible to keep up with.

Yeah Pierre makes it because he plays outside and most of the guys behind him are quick but not speedy type that play either slot or safety.
As someone mentioned, WJ3 is shopping himself around and if healthy they could bring him in, but I doubt it.
I think Riley takes Norwood’s spot… and killibrew makes it for straight special teams.
Tanner muse is probably making it for special teams as well… they lost a ton on ST so he will be the marcus Allen type.

Also I know they have brought in a TE or two recently for tryouts.. it does make me wonder if they are thinking about trading or cutting Gentry and trying to go with Muth and Wash and heyward and trying to stash that young TE on the ps … because they are looking at options in case he gets nabbed… that would let them keep one extra ol..

I can't see us keeping more than 6 DL.
Cam, Larry, Tyson, Wormley, Adams, Leal and Loudermilk made it last year. I wouldn't cut Watts or Loudermilk for a lesser player just because they can play special teams. 99% of the kickoffs will be touchbacks this year so now it is only a need for punting. We have Boykin, Gunner, and Robinson who can dominate for that. And I feel Nick Herbig will be a stud special teams guy if we give him a hat on Sunday.

I can understand Tomlin protecting his 3rd round pick to a point, but it's year 3 and there is no indication Green will ever be any better than he is now.
Did he make any effort to add weight and muscle in the off season?
Guess we'll know in 5-6 days.
All the talk regarding Green is moot. One of the writers at DK Sports indicated Tomlin put Green on notice after the Buffalo game, lapse in concentration (bad snap, again) and bad technique has him not making the 53. He could have PS availability since he wasn’t activated the majority of last year.

yeah im thinking fehoko or watts is cut or practice squad or whatever.

And can we cut superman?

Watts over Fekoko quicker could maybe play 5T Fekoko is a broke man trying to replace Wilfork/Hampton, just not good enough

Again last year we cut Buggs and he went on to start in Detroit…
That is not saying much. Detroit's defense was not that good last year if I recall correctly.

Watts gives you the pass rush capable that Feko and Milko don't bring to the table. Feko gives you that run stop capable at NT, Milko at DE.

I am still not sure who the odd man out is. Shortly the Steelers will clue me in Tuesday.

The starting 5 are basically set for game 1
Broderick Jones makes it as the top backup T… for now … he should be starting late in the season unless Moore is really good

The top G/C backup wil be Herbig

The last spot is up for grabs
spencer Anderson has position flexibility.
Dotson is a good pure guard with a ton of starting experience
LeRaven Clark is an experienced Tackle
Ryan McCollum is a 23 year old Center with 1 start under his belt.
There are options outside of Green

Our last OL player might be on another team right now and picked up when teams trim down to 53 players.

No they are still on the roster. Cuts aren't until Tuesday

Have you seen the state of Olines across the league right now?… I mean anything is possible but I don’t think there will be many non development Ol worth a damn being cut. I actually think a couple of our cuts are probably going to get picked up elsewhere…

Yeah, we have a lot of depth. I think Green gets cut and I honestly don't think he is even unemployed long. Dotson I feel we should be able to get a 7th or even trade him and our 7th for a 5th. He likely starts on a half a dozen teams in the league. And I look at Dylan Cook and I just can't cut him. He honestly looked better than Jones in the preseason. Jones has improved every single game so he is trending up but right now if Chuks or Moore got banged up I would rather put Cook in. I don't think it takes too long for Jones to overtake Cook but as of right now I would say Cook is a little better.

😅@Cook looking better than Jones.

Just ridiculous.

Those are all older transactions… right? None of them have been on the roster for at least a week

Cruickshank has a productive return background.

White and Butler just didn't show enough or challenge for a spot on in the roster.

Two men out two men enter,

next.
I went back and watched Cruickshank again... he's no AB and not even DJ yet but there's a lot of potential to get better...

None of these cuts were surprising.
- CB: Madre Harper - DB: Nevelle Clarke - DL: James Nyamawaya - K: B.T. Potter - LBs: Kuony Deng, Forrest Rhyne - LS: Rex Sunahara - WR: Dan Chisena

Chisena was the only really intriguing guy and he showed nothing during preseason ..

Since Mann isn’t in this early batch with the other extra specialist, I have to assume they really are exploring a trade

You on dat pipe???

So you know what crossed my mind? It sounds like Artie Burns is going to be cut in Seattle … if they really are not thrilled with Pierre( who is a top special teams player, so I really don’t think they will move on from him) It would be a very Tomlin move to bring back the old ex first rounder…

I know.. I should keep my fears to myself lol…
