God, I hope not. Heard enough of that bullshlt from a certain somebody last year.So it is now basically Pickett vs Mason for the number one spot.
and if he throws that ball to CAIII who was actually open he'd have had an even nicer stat. We can sit here and IF, IF, IF all we like but that was a **** decision, a **** throw, and a **** attempt at catching the ball.White makes that contested catch and it’s 2-4-40 yards.

Probably correct but there should be.Mitch is QB2 and Rudolph is QB3. There is no competition.
Lol. No one in their right minds is saying that. Pickett is and should be at this point the clear number one. This is simply a preseason boredom argument over the 2 and 3 slots and who should be which. Hopefully it is entirely irrelevant aside from keel downs or mop up time when we blow people out.So it is now basically Pickett vs Mason for the number one spot. With Tribisky trailing way behind as the third QB and possibly could be fighting Morgan for a PS spot. Amazing how the first preseason game can shake things up.....now lets talk about Harris vs Warren....throw that Bell guy......hmmmmm.![]()
Oh thank you. We have been going around about Mitch and Rudy for what three days using cherry picked numbers and metrics (admittedly on both sides) but those do not apply to KP apparently. Cause I could look at raw stats and make a strong case for Mitch and KP being very equal last year. But that is ridiculous because there is something called watching and feel. It's not just fantasy football. Which is why KP is one, Trubu is 2 and Rudy is 3.Lol. No one in their right minds is saying that. Pickett is and should be at this point the clear number one. Exactly...Don't know much about Noah what is his deal?
Man, who pissed in your poutine? I haven't really used much for metrics at all. I am basing this on my opinion only, as a former coach, player and game scout. I have also prefaced my opinions as being based on the offensive line being improved. I personally for variety of reasons prefer Mason as a passer over Mitch. I have said repeatedly that I only prefer Mason over Mitch assuming the line is better. If the line is porous Mason would get killed. Kenny has in his progression as a player shown to have some of the better traits of both. Mitch's maneuverability and Masons willingness to make the throw. Hopefully that progression continues.Oh thank you. Put Rudy back under C against an NFL defense inseason where his immobility and lack of tight windows throwing inability and you would see how much less. The only thing I feel the guy has going for him is his ability to push the ball down the field. I feel any significant time frame on the field you would clearly see the difference. For our team I hope we don't get to test either of our opinions...
I am talking in general as a whole body of work. Not the last preseason game. See we can't throw money in the equation. It should be who is the best next man up. I think that is Mitch with his whole body of work. I get Rudy has his supporters , I just don't get how they think he is a better option over Mitch. I am not saying I think highly of MT , just feel he will lead the Steelers to more clutch wins than Rudy. Not sure what you saw. I saw Mason Rudolph make a nice run. Im saying i think mason is better than trubisky, especially for a back up. And especially for the price.
Here is the stats from last year's preseasonNot sure what you saw. I saw Mason Rudolph make a nice run. Im saying i think mason is better than trubisky, especially for a back up. And especially for the price.
I dunno they extended him with the intent for Mitch to hang around. I don't see them moving on next year. Here is the other piece. Whatever you think about it the Steelers were and are somewhat married to Mitch no matter what you think. You have to consider the price of rice with him. His dead cap cost was probably more than half the entire qb. room put together this season. So we can go round and round. You are free to believe Rudy is better. Clearly I do not. But neither really matters. Mitch is qb 2. And I agree hopefully we don't need to find out. If Rudy plays really well this pre season, is good with KP and the cap savings make sense next year. Maybe.
Mitch being cut after being a high pick should tell you a lot more than no one signing Mason. Mason did have options he aid and chose Pittsburgh. Mitch sucked in Chicago when asked to carry the team he was adequate when the defense carried them. When Rudy was waived and no-one bit, that should tell you what the NFL scouts think of Rudy. Mitch got a bad rep last year. No QB would have done well w/ that garbage offense we were employing early. When Kenny went down Mitch came in and won a game if I remember right. You cant say Rudy or Mitch is better based on limited snaps in the first pre-season game. I think Mitch is more mobile and a stronger arm than Rudy. Mitch has shown he can be exceptional even if its in small spurts. He went on an absolute terror w/ a very bad bears team for a few games. Rudy has not shown that level in the NFL. Maybe it is in there somewhere, but I have not seen it.
Nor do I but if somehow these people were correct they could for 4 million dollars.I dunno they extended him with the intent for Mitch to hang around. I don't see them moving on next year.
I think it served both purposes well. I think he is a quality Q. And there is more to being a back up then just the play.Mitch was extended simply to lower his cap numbers, since he was not going to be a starter. He wasn’t extended because the Steelers think he is the answer to their BU needs.
