Mock Draft Time
1.22) Dante Fowler, OLB, UF
2.56) PJ Williams, CB, FSU
3.87) Ben Koyack, TE, ND
4.120) Kurtis Drummond, FS, MSU
5.152) David Johnson, RB, North Iowa
6.183) Sean Mannion, QB, Oregon St.
7.214) Lynden Trail, DE/OLB, Norfolk St.
The Steelers have been fortunate with highly regarded players dropping to them and this year's unexpected player (IMO) will be Fowler. I think Williams is ready to play early and will see time by the end of the year and Koyack is the best all-around TE in the draft, IMO, which is the type of tight end the Steelers like and Heath is near the end. Drummond may go in the third to someone, but he could fall to the 4th, Johnson can be Bell's hammer and its time to put a halt to the Jones experiment and draft Mannion to begin the grooming process. Trail is a pass rusher with length and in case the Steelers go to some form of the 4-3 he's tall and carries decent weight.

Funny, I've been reading just the opposite a lot lately, that the Steelers would be better off following the Pats' lead in acquiring as many picks as possible. The bigger the pool of rookies coming in, the better the chances of them actually making it, regardless of how high they're stacked going into the draft. More players picked = higher % of players sticking. I'm not saying I support that theory, just stating that it's being thrown out there...THIS YEAR is the year to move up and get QUALITY PICKS over the quantity picks...
