They met with Mazi twice. I am beginning to wonder if he isn't at play at 17 then a corner at 31..or flip script.
Mazi seems to be more than a one-trick-pony (Clydesdale?). It may take some time with Dunbar and Heyward, but I could see some DT and DE in Mazi's future. That said... 17 seems a bit steep. I would like to see him in Black and Gold!

Maybe they trade Greene? Hear me out! He is not a fit on our OLine in the AFC North. However, he could be a great fit on an OLine that uses a zone-blocking scheme. Greene is not big, but he is brute strong and has elite movement skills for a Guard.

Maybe we get a pick in the 5th or 6th round (where we have no picks currently)?

I think a 2 TE set with DJ and Pickens should be very scary for opposing defenses. Then we can worry less about the lack of a slot WR and it would help the run as well as the Goal Line play, which was the weakest part of the offense.
I've been thinking about this, but the only TE that fits my ideal is Darnell Washington as he's already an elite blocker as a TE, but he's also a freak, he's a good receiver, Friermuth is better. My idea would be to run a lot of two TE sets with Muth and Washington, and it would give us the flexibility to line up or motion Muth into the slot and use him as a big slot. We could run or pass out 12 personnel all day and have mismatches all over the yard

I'm thinking Herbig challenges for centre. If he doesnt get it he backs up guard centre and Green is gone. This Philly guy and Daniel's start at guard. If Harris doesn't dominate this year I will say he is a failure but I think he is gonna kick ***.

If they could get that I would've traded him yesterday.😅

Just don't think you are getting anything for him. Looks like the cut before they even get to Latrobe type...

This is a little surprising with Daniels and Cole on the interior last year and the Herbig signing. Herbig could have bumped Dotson down and Green out. Cole played decent at C so I can't see him or Daniels going anywhere. So, you probably have Seumalo, Cole, and Daniels on the interior with Herbig backing up. Sucks for Herbig as I am thinking he thought he had a good shot to be a starter. Moore and Chuks can both be replaced in the draft. Chuks has no upside. He sucked at LT for years and moved to RT where he is average on his best days. Moore has improved and as I've said before, should improve even more and especially when you put a decent player next to him. He still has upside compared to Chuks. It will be interesting to see how this all shakes out now.

If Kahn/Weidl could get a 5th or 6th for the turnstile known as Greene they truly are miracle workers

If I was an opposing GM I’d just wait for him to be cut… and then jam a railroad spike into my eye for looking at Greene and thinking he was worth signing

Can’t imagine Big O will be there at our mid 2nd rounder. I think he would fit nicely and fill a huge void.

Are you comfortable with a TE 32?

I think Chuks is deficient against the run and Moore the pass. If we could just morph the two together. I think in the deficient areas they are below average. I think we see what Chuks is now. Serviceable but won't be more than that. Moore I am a little more on the fence. Just in regards I am not sure if he has topped out. Maybe the Steelers give him another year with a better G besides him to see the outcome and draft a RT at 32.

This draft will be a fun watch. (Well for me they all are)

They can slot a weapon or pair one with Muth. So yeah sure either or would add something needed to the offense.

I am reading it is a 3-year, $24M contract. .

I think he instantaneously becomes the teams bet O-Lineman.

I really like Andy's approach and was hoping he would be allowed to build the trenches like he helped do in Philly. I'm starting to like this two headed monster of Weidl/Kahn! Kevin although had done a nice job over the years I think he had grown stale. It was so time for a change.

Btw! I don't know what the hell you guys are drinking or smoking but we're not getting anything for Kendrick Greene. The guy should have never, ever been drafted in the third round. Way overdraft!

Nice job Omar and Andy!

I am now thinking they trade down off of 17.

Why? They eliminated need off of G. That doesn't eliminate the need for a CB,T,S,slot WR, DE, or a TE to pair with Muth.

I would think the value would be there. I prefer to leave trade downs with either the value isn't there. Or some team offers something too good to pass up.

I would be, especially Darnell, but only if the Steelers commit to more 12 personnel. I think they were in two TE sets like 20% last year? If you take a guy like Washington who may be the best blocking TE in the league with the ability to be a freak pass catcher as well, I would hope that would bump closer to 50%, not fully 50, as some of those formations having both Muth and Washington on the field would be bigger sets (goal line, short yardage). With DW you don't need an extra down lineman

The last thing this team needs to build is a tight end. It’s like RB and ILB. Very few elite options worth that type of investment.

The Moore/Okorafor situation is interesting. For a short stretch at the start of the year, Okorafor was the best or second best lineman on the team before falling off a cliff. When Moore is bad, he’s real bad. He’s decent when he’s on and should look a little better with consistent guard play next to him. I think if B. Jones is there, he’s the pick at 17. If not and none of the top CBs are there, the Steelers will trade down. At 32, D. Jones should be in play and I don’t know if they see him as LT or just at RT only.

I'd be just fine if they traded down a bit to pick-up extra pick. If not #17 that pick #32 will be a hot one to start day number two of the draft. They will receive a ton of calls for pick #32 which is like a number one.

Definitely. Chuks has played for 5 years now. They tried to coach him up at LT but after 3 years, he was moved to RT and Moore came in as a rookie. Moore has 2 years under his belt and did improve. I think he definitely still has upside. The draft will be fun. I still think they add a WR in free agency. It could even be signing Sims back. He can return kicks and did OK when in at WR. And, hopefully, Austin can get back into things and play after his injury but you never know when rookies get injured and never play in year 1 if they can get back to form.

CB Gonzalez, Witherspoon, Porter, Banks
OT Jones, Johnson, Skoronski (given this offseason approach I’m not sure he’s an option)

If those guys are off the board, I look to move down. The WRs will be overdrafted but the 20s are a decent place for who is available. The DL talent isn’t there and I don’t know about going edge (I am. it as high on Van Ness at 17). TE in the first, especially in a deep class, is a tough move. Not a high positional value when you can find good options in the middle rounds. It’s like RB and ILB in my book.

I am thinking of smoking some peyote and then trading him for a number 1 after the trade deadline.
