Really with you for the most part. I think the team trends to average with average coaching. Ok amount of good to an ok amount of bad. Not a lot of elite teams or coaching but that doesn't mean upgrades can't be had or shouldn't. If they want to win something significant it will need to be. Otherwise it is average to mediocre groundhog day over and over again. And who was coaching the Steelers when they were 2-6? Or that doesn't that poor start matter, because they've managed to beat some shltty teams?
Not me. I thought they'd breeze to 8+ wins, and I bet on it. But you're right -- losing Watt had a major impact.
And who gave one of the worst OC's in the NFL his job? Who passed on Creed Humphrey and then drafted Kendrick Green, a guard in college, then started him day one at center for most of 2021, but hasn't dressed him for a single game in 2022?
One of my biggest issues with Tomlin is inability to change in a game and outside of it. Poor adjustments in regards to both. Hopefully knowing how stubborn the FO is they at least upgrade to a better coordinator coming from outside of the team. Give the team at least a fighting chance to be better than mediocre.
Hopefully Omar nails his first draft as well. If the team wants to live and die with Mike at least minimize his obvious weaknesses.
