Zach Banner:Munchak's mission is to transform him from the incredible bulk into

This late team addition was interesting. A guy that went from drafted castoff bouncing around team to team. To training camp sign, and then to making the Steelers final 53.

Mike Munchak's mission is to transform him from the incredible bulk into the incredible hulk.

But who is Zach Banner? Google surfing pulls up some interesting tidbits, one that for me at least was partially close to home. You see Zach was adopted by his stepdad. (I was adopted as well, but neither parent was my biological parental unit). And like me he didn't know it until he stumbled across some paperwork. Zach's parents didn't want to risk Zach rebelling at a young age with the news, so they option to wait to tell him until they deemed him old enough to know.

Now comes the really interesting part, as in who was the baby's daddy? None other than the NFL's Lincoln Kennedy. Yeah THAT Lincoln Kennedy that all pro right tackle for the Raiders. Who himself struggled early out of the gates after the Falcons drafted him as the 9th overall pick in the NFL draft.

Part of the reason Zach bounced around early was due to his fluctuating weight. Which he will need to keep in check on a consistent basis moving forward, Mike Tomlin obviously. But part of the reason the Steelers signed him was that his weight was down. And the other part is that Watt, Edmunds, Heyward type of blood line they find attractive.

I think with Zach you have obvious talent sitting there before us. And we know Munchak can get the most out of a lineman. Mold that clay if you will into something solid for the Steelers.

We can always use the depth at a position assigned to keep your franchise still standing.

Good post Slash! Sometimes all it takes in being put in the correct scenario and Zack certainly lucked out coming here. Munchak will tap into that potential and get the most from him. The key though is keeping his weight under control which we know has been his issue.

Good job Slash, but I really think Banner is player to be cut,...for LeVeon. Then signed to the PS.

That is possible. And there is also three other options too. I don't consider Ridley,Dangerfield, or Fort untouchable. Also one could be designated for injured reserve with designation to return.

Some options on the table.

My guess is Ridley. I really don't know why we'd keep 5 total RBs (Including Nix)
