I hated the Oilers. I hated Jerry Glanville. I hate the Browns and yet I had respect for Bernie Kosar as a player. I respect the rivalry with The Ravens, hate The Bengals, especially now.
Tons of respect for the late Steve McNair. Hate Deion Sanders.

I would LOVE to get our current division to mirror that of the old AFC Central when it was Noll, Schottenheimer, Wyche, and Glanville.
I can't recall a better era of football.
There was true hatred of the other three teams and all the players.
Both teams came out bruised and battered and sore the next day.
The fans were insatiably rabid.
You could actually hit people, I mean REALLY hammer people, including the QBs, and no flags were thrown.
Mostly, it was uber competitive and each game really was a coinflip to who would win.
Even if one team was 10-5 and the other was 2-13, you better believe it was going to be a back alley brawl with the victor looking like they lost.

I always hated and respected Steve Mcnair. Steeler killer.

As far as the Pats, It is not just that they cheat. Every team does it to some extent I am sure. Its the fact that they cheat get caught and are actually smug about it. I have no respect for them, do not think they are a great team,

I agree with the posters that say basically said the Pats were a NFL after thought until 2001. Bears/Pats Super Bowl is the only one I didn't watch. I knew as everyone else did that it was going to be a blow out. I went hunting instead.

The Raiders. As a kid in the 70s, you hated the Raiders. It was seething. Hasn't abated since then, even though they suck most of the time.

Had I actually known what was to come, I wouldn't have laughed. But in '02, the Tuck Rule game, for a week I laughed and laughed. *******. Got what was coming to them. I am old enough to remember the '76 playoff game in which the Pats should have won, the Sugar Bear Hamilton phantom roughing the passer penalty. The Steelers would have had the Pats at home the next week if they had won, and I think they beat them at home (even though they lost to them at home earlier in the year), even without Franco and Rocky. They then handle the Vikes easy, and they are the only team to win 3 Super Bowls in a row.

It's a good thought.

Of course I hate the usual suspects - Ravens, Bungles, Browns, Pats. And honestly I don't respect a single one of them, for a variety of reasons

I don't "hate" any other team, at least nearly the way I hate them. I want to hate the Cowboys but we just don't play them often enough for me to care. NFC teams just don't get me riled up like that. We've lost a lot of important games to Denver over the years, but I never felt cheated or like we lost to a shady or unethical organizaton

Hated

New England. They cheat and they win, plus their fans are delusional.

Ravens - The Rivalry is not what is was, but I still smile every time they lose a game.

Cowboys - Their owner is the worst, and we have had some significant wins and losses. I love to beat them, even if it's a pre-season game.

Seattle - Mostly because their fans cry and enough to fill bottles of wine.




Respected: To be respected you have to be stand-up organization from the ownership level to the fans and play us tough. Most of the hated teams lack character.

Kanas City. They play us tough.

Ravens. Many classic close games.

90's- hated Denver.

Heh. Maybe that's why I hated them so much. It was two players, George Atkinson and Jack Tatum more than the rest of the team. One player that would have been fun on those '70s teams from the later era was Hines Ward, at least against the Raiders. He would have laid those two out at some point.

I wish the Steelers were more like those 70s teams with respect to pushing the envelope a little, especially when dealing with the Pats. The Raiders were known for doing goofy ****, greasing heir uniforms, deflating footballs at home. Instead of whining, the tarp on the field at Three Rivers "split," freezing he sidelines for the '75 AFCCG. I love that stuff. So instead of whining when the Pats do something, when they come to Pittsburgh, make sure their is a fireworks display or something about 3am before the game right around their hotel. Or make sure the hotel's heat or AC malfunctions. Back up the plumbing in the visitor's locker room on game day. I don't know, come up with something to **** with them.
