I remember draft 2019 like yesterday. I remember the excitement of trading up to get Bush.

and then I recall hoping and begging Chase Winovich somehow fell to our 3rd rd pick. he did. we picked some WR I never heard of in DJ. what are yalls thoughts on 1st year results?

I think I am glad I have nothing to do with the draft

DJ's only real problem right now is ball security. Hopefully, he takes his offseason seriously and adds some muscle and strength and works on ball security. If he fumbles as much as he did this year, Tomlin will bench him next year.

Tomlin doesn't think he needs to teach receivers how to catch a ball. I'm sure that teaching ball security isn't on the agenda either. He assumes that since you walked back from Krogers with a loaf of bread properly secured in the fourth grade, you are good to go on that detail. Apparently he expects all his talent to arrive ready to respond to his rah rah bullshit and be great. Watch the talent wane. Minkah, Haden, and not develop - DJ.If you are not getting better in this league, you are getting passed by. The other guys are getting better faster than our guys.

This is a continuous improvement league. I don't know what league Tomlin thinks he's playing in.

We need a receiver coach that can teach route running, catching and security

DJ might be the #1 wideout by the end of next season

The early returns show a terrific group of wide receivers in this year's draft. Johnson led all of them in receptions, but man, AJ Brown looks very good and was the guy I really wanted the Steelers to get in the second round.

Winovich had a pretty good season. Not exactly sure how many snaps he gets but he had 5.5 sacks which is an average Bud Dupree year. In the end, I'm happy what they got, but they were definitely maneuvered around by Seattle and New England. Seattle knew they were going for receiver and Metcalf was still there. 3 picks away were the Steelers. Boom trade up. But anyhow, if Bush and Johnson and possibly Layne all start long term, it will be an excellent draft

Just imagine our Offense without DJ, if it was already bad I can't imagine how much worse it could have been.

Also it probably spares drafting a WR as top priority this coming draft, we will have a very good talent with a full season of experience for the upcoming season

Uh, he WAS the Steelers #1 receiver THIS season. Check the stats.

Ok ok. He had more catches less yards then Washington. But if you think with a healthy Ben (fingers crossed) and Juju, that Johnson is the one, you are mistaken.

We’ll see. AB was our #1 receiver. Of all the Steelers receivers, DJ is the most like AB and he just had a better rookie season than AB had.

Definitely happy with the pick. After restocking the defense thru the draft for the last couple years to great success, we now have many more needs on offense. Our idiot #1 WR was gone so the position was a serious need. He wasn't the guy I wanted but the team definitely knows how to draft WRs so I wasn't too worried about the pick when it happened.

I think you're wrong. DJ, like I said on draft day last year and all season long, is a clone of the old #84. 84 was the #1 and Juju thrived then. Let's just wait and see but IF Ben comes back we're going to see some magic again next season...

It's a tough call, but WR was a need and without DJ, the receivers would have been dogshit this year.

If you go back to draft day I bet not one person here would've taken DJ over Chase. Bud was a disappointment still and our defense had been an issue.
Now I bet not one person here would trade DJ for Chase.
