G.Stryker www.SteelerNation.com Entering training camp, this is my projected depth chart (Players on the top line are projected to make the roster): LWR (X) Antonio Brown, Darrius Heyward-Bey Marcus Tucker, Damoun Patterson SWR (Y) JuJu Smith-Schuster, Eli Rogers, Marcus Tucker, Jaylen Samuels, Quadree Henderson, Justin Thomas RWR (Z) Justin Hunter, James Washington Tevin Jones, Trey […]

I would be slightly surprised to see Washington not win that nod over Hunter for more playing time/start..

Do you think JuJu could play the X ? I am not sure I see him as a number 1 WR yet. Not that isn't out of the realm of a possibility.

I get this Coolie -Houston vibe from you with Tucker. And I will take a little closer look-see in training camp.

Although preseason will be a good tell as well............

Yes, JuJu could play the X. If AB goes down, that becomes an option you have to consider. He's got the hands and is a good route runner. He has the entire route tree, and is the best blocker on the roster. He already ran 1WR sets as a rookie. That shows me he is X capable.

Don't get me wrong, no one can replace what AB does for us. He's a keystone starter. But in a pinch, JuJu could handle the role.

Why again to we sign Rogers who is on PUP?

He's the rip cord receiver. If we have an issue with AB, DHB, Tucker, or JuJu from week 1 to week 11, we have an option that knows our offense.

He is strictly insurance. If everyone is heathy and producing at the WR position, he will not be activated and will be bumped from the active roster before he can activate.
