By Adam McCoy SteelerNation.com * For every game played, you have players that stand out, both for good and bad things. We’re going to look at those players, both winners and losers each week, and highlight or throw them under the bus.** * Winners James Washington I’ll be honest, after putting James Washington in the […]

Our passing game and the play calling needs a ridiculous amount of work if we even want a shot at pos-season. Of all the “replacement” or rookie QBs in the league, Rudolph looks the shakiest and most hesitant. This will need to change ASAP .

Mason is not a rookie, but who are the rookie replacement QBs you are referring to?

The only winners in this game were the Steelers. And the losers....well the Colts.

Losers
Us, The Viewers
Another week, another game ruined by “refball”. This has been a constant theme, week in, week out, Sunday, Monday, and Thursday, games being effected due to refs abusing their power and influence in a game with flaky calls, phantom interference calls, and anything stronger than a light breeze making contact with a quarterback roughing the passer. Gone are the days of memorable plays, remembering a game for a highlight play or a standout performance. Now, every week we’re left with a bad taste in our mouth, feeling dissatisfied and left feeling robbed. There’s seemingly only one team immune to it, but we’ll not get into it. I used to love watching football. I’d spend my entire Sunday watching football, multiple streams up, just kicking back and enjoying the NFL experience. Now, with me traveling for work, I struggle to find myself watching any football at all. Now Adam you may say, the Steelers won the game, shouldn’t you be happy? Well yes, I am happy the Steelers won, but that doesn’t diffuse the point here. The refs continue to have an enormous impact on almost every single game. I feel like we may start to see a decline in viewership if this continues.

Well said. Too bad the power brokers don't get it.

I wouldn't necessarily say the D is playing dominant.

Definitely not by yesterdays showing.

But to be fair Tomlin deserves part of the credit on the D's improvement. As does Colbert, as does Butler.

Hard to tell how much credit with them being so secretive on exactly who does what...

Regardless in that aspect of the team he deserves credit.

Doesn't Tomlin call the defensive plays now? Don't hear much of that from the Tomlin haters, since the D has become dominant...

LOL Dominant? They gave up 3 TDs to a guy on his 8th team. He had a 105.9 QB rating against this dominant defense. All that when they lost their starting QB, starting center and didn't have their #1 WR. They are 24th in the league in passing TDs and 13th in points. Hardly dominant.

Far from being dominant. Much improved I’ll accept, but still have ways to go before they can be considered dominant.
The improved play of Bud since Butler is back instructing the LBers, the addition of Steven Nelson at CB, the God send of Minkah, the continuing improvement of Devin Bush is what’s made the defense much improved.

Viewership is being propped up by fantasy football...otherwise...man...it would be ugly. Money is the only factor that influences the nflost.

Dominant? Weren't they a shanked FG away from losing to a 3rd string QB yesterday. They are improving but are far from dominant.

How many TD drives did the Colts backup QB score against this “dominant” Defense again?

compared to last year they are dominant. I am not terrified when they come on the field any longer

I don't agree with the dominant stance but they weren't locked into a loss if a field goal is made. Steelers would have had over a minute to get into field goal range.

I'm with several here as to the defense still has a way to go to be dominant. Now maybe with this new fangled, referee influenced NFL play, this might be as dominant as it gets.

That's the spirit!!! :)

I'm as happy as anybody that the defense is having some really great moments and even games.

But, let's keep in mind that there is no defense in the NFL that has more "pedigree" than the Steelers. What is it, 10 1st rounders? If THAT many first rounders can't put together a decent defensive effort after playing together for an extended period of time, it only means the coach is LESS competent, not more.

I shudder to think how good this Defense with all the “first rounders” could potentially be with a coaching staff that knew WTF they were doing!

Touche! I'm just frustrated seeing so much talent underperforming every week. The thing about it is this defense has the pedigree to be truly dominant, but they haven't put together a solid 60 minutes of football in a few seasons. Still too many WTF moments every game.

Dominant? This defense is expert in giving it right back. They are making splash plays, I’ll give you that. Dominant? Hardly.
