By: G.Stryker,*Twitter @SNStryker and Instagram @SNStryker SteelerNation.com   Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator, Randy Fichtner was asked some questions at his Zoom interview about the problems the team has had scoring prior to Cleveland Browns game. Currently they are on a drought since late 2018 where they haven’t scored on an opening drive since. Coach Fichtner […]

I don't know, I've been pretty damn happy with the offense the last two games. They have played well in the red zone, Cashed in turnovers. Stayed ahead of the chains and using the Canada motion to their advantage. I've been a little disappointed in the defense up until this week. We all knew there was going to be some adjustment with Ben back, but it has got progressively better.

With two back to back 38 point games and a season low of 26 points I do not think the Steelers have problems scoring.

Some of play calling could be better and sometimes it takes a little longer than I’d like to get into gear.

But trouble scoring, I don’t see it

Where is Coach? what have you done with him? I can't be agreeing with you twice in one day, you must be an imposter.

Agreed, I don't see it either.

Once again Coach, you form your opinion without reading the article.

The trouble scoring is on the first drive of games...

Fitchner isn’t a great play caller per se, he does adjust the offense well, and Ben checks into great plays...
scoring right off the opening drive sets up the defense better.... they have to get better there... bring in a consultant to script the initial 20 plays if you must...

Scoring from your own 25 yard line isn’t easy. As long as the Steelers do not turn the ball over on drive number one I’m okay provided they pin the opponent inside their 25 yard line.

Scoring overall is not our biggest problem.

Scoring on the opening drive has been an issue. Not sure what it is, but my belief is that it is play calling primarily. They seem to use that first drive to run some of their odd **** just to kind of feel out what the defense is doing or not doing. Personally, I'm not sure they feel a NEED to score on that opening drive. Sure, I think they'd LIKE to score, but if they can get a read on what the defense is trying to do and they don't score, all the better as it serves them better later in the game.
