In many posts one will be accused of being a hater, or having homer view points etc. So I will pose the question why are some teams hated and others not? Examples.... the Ravens....the Cowboys......the Packers......The cheatriots.

The Ravens are a rival that plays with intensity. The division is almost always a battle involving us and them and when it is not the games are still played that way. In the heat of competition tempers flare and actions slightly outside the rules of good sportsmanship are often in play. If the Ravens were in another division there would likely not be the same level of hatred. This team will likely always be hated.

The cowboys have been hated since they were given the title America's team by the media after the steelers turned it down. Back in the early days of the super bowl era one had the finesse team the boys vs the steelers which relied on brute force and blunt trauma to achieve the results they wanted. It didn't hurt that they were crying in the media about things and then became known as the Dallas Cryboys in the minds of Steeler fans. In later years Jerry Jones and his buy a championship team came into play and he became an owner through his publicity actions and other things that both the fans of the steelers and many of the fans of the cowboys hated as well.

The Packers have been a competitive team since before the super bowl era. They have in many years played hard hitting games against the Steelers but have never been hated. Even after beating the Steelers in a super bowl they were not hated. The same can not be said for Chris Kemo who missed a key block, Rashard Mendenhall who lost a fumble at an inopportune time or the guy that missed the block that resulted in the pick six Ben tossed. So no one really hates the Packers they just seem to be another competitive team.

The cheatriots. The name says it all. I won't try and speak for others here but only myself. One thing that I hate more than anything is someone that feels the rules are for others and not themselves. I am a former police officer and that type of behavior brings out more hatred from me than just about anything. You see doing the right thing is very much part of me. Prior to the involvement of Belicheate and the patriots in cheating were they even a blip on the radar? I have to say no. Did I care they changed their name or logo nope they were only another team much as the saints were only another team.

Enter the tuck rule. It sure looked like that game was manipulated and the better team was cheated out of a win. Next we have indications of cheating again in the illegal filming of other teams and to make it worse it looks like the owner of the team might have used some influence to hide the evidence so that the extent of the cheating will never be known. No one likes trying to compete in a rigged game and that is just what it seemed like when ever the cheats were involved. They were finally caught again cheating in a new way and it appears the denial and attacks on the the persons showing they cheated continue as of old. The coach appears to be nothing but a slimy old ******* who continues to cheat regardless of the consequences and the owner seems to try and cover up and hide the truth like any good media mogul engaged in yellow journalism.

Now on to the hatred of the patriots and everything about them. If it were not for the cheating for more than a decade I postulate they would still be just another team. Further I suggest they would have no championship trophies in Massachusetts as all were attained while cheating. That is the sole reason I hate the cheatriots and everything about them so completely.:anyone:

Oh I hate the Packers, have done so since childhood. To hell with Green Bay and all the pasty ******** who wear foam cheese on their heads

Hate alll you've listed except the Packers. I don't necessarily like them, I just don't hate them. Probably because they're not documented cheaters, mostly felons, or division rival.

I like the Packers fine. Good blue-collar, small-market type of team.

Hate:

*'s. Will no longer even type their team name. **** 'em, they are cheaters and deserve nothing.
Ravens. Don't really need to type a lot of reasons. Shithole team in a shithole town.
Cowboys. Mostly, because, living in AR, our 'local' broadcast was the Cowboys. That "America's Team" **** can kiss my hairy, pasty white ***.

I hate the pats** more than any team. Cheating far out weighs an honest rivalry.

Being "Hated" goes hand in hand with being "Successful"

There is a lot of hatred directed towards the Pittsburgh Steelers -- although that is due to a lot of jealousy of the success; but the perception of Super Bowl XL and Roethlisberger doesn't help. Although I will say like the Packers because of the Rooney family there is also a lot of respect.

The Cowboys are hated because they make it a point to make a spectacle of themselves and they are shoved down our throat.

The Patriots are hated because quite frankly they cheated -- and a team that wasn't that talented won Super Bowls they shouldn't have.

People hate teams and athletes that are highly successful. People hate the Steelers although none of us understand why, people hate the Yankees, people hate Jeff Gordon.
No one hates the Lions, Bills, Browns, Buccaneers, except maybe their own fans.

The Cowboys are hated because they make it a point to make a spectacle of themselves and they are shoved down our throat.
Whether they're good or not.

The Patriots are hated because quite frankly they cheated -- and a team that wasn't that talented won Super Bowls they shouldn't have.
Double-secret hate.

I don't hate the Packers....I do think Rodgers is an ******* though.

when I was growing up, it was Dallas, Cleveland, and daRaiders...

still hate Dallas...Cle and Oak are like kids that aren't wired right, barely OK to laugh at, can't really hate them....also when I was growing up, pre 4SB's, if you liked to read about the NFL, the Packers figured pretty prominently...those guys were dominant, and some great individual characters...and I LIKE Rodgers.

Now its the ****'s, the Ratbirds, and Dallas....

The team's fans have something to do with my dislike of a team. Brown fans HATE us with every inch of their being and I don't know really why. Bungal fans are the same way. I get the division, rivalry, close distance, blah, blah, blah, but damn, their venom is quite comical. Has to be a "not them again" hate. So, I hate them back and just laugh at them. Makes them angrier.

The Cheats are just a dirty organization. They deserve all the **** thrown at them. Arrogant, dishonest and tainted. I would rather see the Ravens win the next 3 SB's then ever see Kraft and Co. near that trophy again. And, there's nothing about the Ravens I like. Harbaugh is reason enough for me to despise them.

The Cowgirls are just annoying and easy not to like. Eagles, too. Their fans deserve their misery. Just two teams(cities) I hope never win another championship in my lifetime.

I live where we are the hated. Its so much fun! My friend (Houston native, Texans) fan made us pot roast for dinner for the MNF Texans/Steelers game. She used Heinz gravy in the crock pot. I told her "Thank for the good luck!". She was so pissed off that night, lol.

I hate the Ravens and Pats. I hate Roger Goodell more than anything else. Ive never hated Cinci and Cle. Its always more around how sad and pathetic they are.

I hated Denver when I lived in Colorado because Broncos fans are stupid ridiculous and John Elway is just a ******* douche bag.

When I lived in Nor Cal, Raiders fans were actually pretty cool. I partied my *** off at their **** *** stadium for STeelers/Raiders. Raiders fans actually took some ******* Pats fans out of a bar/restaurant where me and mini SG were watching a game. The Pats fans were throwing ice at my 6 yo.

I think there can be a fine line between dislike and respect in terms of a rival in the NFL.

I hate the Ravens, but I admit they are good rivals.

My least favorite teams

New England - They cheat.
Baltimore - I'll admit they are a good rival. The games between us and them are good, but I'd love to see them go 0-16
San Francisco - They and some of their players are jealous of the Steelers
Dallas - The media gives them too much focus. Their owner is a piece of work
Seattle - Just because their fans have sour grapes.

I agree what you said about the Ravens. Great rivalry, but if they went 0-16, I would not shed a tear. I do have more respect for the Ravens than the Cheats. Even though JH is a whiny jackoff.
Seattle fans need to get a grip. Many Steeler fans wished them well for the SB and they still acted like we killed all of their puppies and kittens 10 years later. It pained me that NE won, but that little salt in Seattle fans' wounds made me chuckle.

Exactly, they hate us because we are routinely better than they are, Stains fans especially because they've been cellar dwellers for so long. Then when we don't give a **** it makes them angrier because deep down inside they know that their team isn't good enough to be considered a rival anymore. If you really want to torque off a Stains fan, remind them that their team never won a Super Bowl until they moved to Baltimore and now they've won two.

My most hated teams in order by the most hated:

ravens-only thing worse than being the browns is being the team that USED to be the browns.
browns-traditonal rival.
bengals-divinison opponent.
raiders-70's hate still simmers, plus we keep losing to their crappy teams.
cheatriots-cheaters and some of the worse fans in all of football.
cowboys-worst fans in football. Bully in grade school beat me up twice because of our super bowl wins. Id take that beating every year if it means more rings.
seahawks-cry baby pee pants fans who STILL cant accept the fact that they were beat fair and square.
titans (oilers)-was my most hated team growing up.
jags-cause when they first started up some idiot fan in Raleigh wanted to argue that they are our rival. really? i mean REALLY?
eagles-their fans give boys and cheats a run for their money as the worst. Probably the most obnoxious fans of all.

I dont have hate for any of the rest of the teams cept on game day when we play them. Once a team gets on the list, however, they are there premanently. Didnt use to hate the Pats or Hawks back in the day.

When I lived in Texas, I was surrounded by Cryboy fans and not surprisingly, Steeler fans.

The thing about Dallas is that it IS the least texas city in all of Texas. Nobody from Dallas is from the state of Texas. They all seemed to have moved there from somewhere up north. That's what makes them intolerable. They are like 40whiner fans...very fair weathered.

Steeler (and again not surprisingly, Packers) fans are not fair weathered. Usually very knowledgeable and passionate to a fault, but not fair weathered.

I was in Dallas (Arlington) for the SB and I can tell you I would've felt worse if we'de lost to anyone else. Packers represented the "Pittsburgh North" team to me. Ex-players, Ex-coaches, their HC is from the Burgh, their uniforms almost looked the same at night. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

As all here, I hate cheats, primadonnas and teams with ******* coaches or fans...one team has them all...in spades!

Browns fans hate the Steelers more than the other division fan bases combined...its "Pittsburgh Sucks" all year round up here, not just during football season.

The hate actually started back to 1970 when Modell convinced Rooney to join the Browns in the AFC Central....Modell thinking he would continue to rule the division by adding another doormat,
Instead it was the doormats that ruled over these Clowns. You see, the Browns were Gods gift to football back then, and it was they who were supposed to winning Super Bowls, not the lowly Steelers.
The hate and jealousy that spewed from every pore of the Clown fan back then continues on to this day.

I don't hate any team like I hate Cleveland...I'd rather see Brady win 10 SB's than Cleveland win 1.

The reason why some people hate the Steelers...

There is no reason to hate the Browns since they moved... they are the least of our rivals and almost deserve sympathy not hate... literally only people over 40 have anything to hate them for, and they just haven't realized that they are like the Raiders... irrelevant and jokes for so long that there is no emotion left in those games between the two

Most hated:
1. Pats** without question. The Cheating Bastiges From New England kept us out of two more Super Bowls plus we're 2-6 versus Belicheat and Brady and they made our D look like a DII college team even when we were good.
2. Ravens. Healthy divisional rival and they're usually as good as we are. Hated rival but you have respect. When they beat us it's a fair and square *** kicking. Miss the good ol' days of their LB's and Ed Reed getting blown up by a smiling Hines Ward.
3. Cowboys for all the reasons listed above.
4. Raiders. Going back to the 70's yes, but as mentioned they often manage to beat us no matter how bad they are.
5. Eagles just because of the most obnoxious fan base in all of sports.

Totally agree on the first 3, that would be my order as well. As of last year, my 4th would have been the Niners because Hairball was their coach. Now, without him, I don't think they make the list. The Raiders, eh, even though they keep beating the Steelers' ***** even when they suck doesn't bother me as much now that their crypt keeper owner has passed on. I get more mad at the Steelers for playing down to them. Raider fans are total tools though. Eagles, don't have much feel for them either way. I do hate their stupid E-A-G-L-E-S chant though. I suppose I could put the Seachickens on my list as number 4 because of all the XL crying, because Cheatin Pete is their coach, and because now a lot of their players are loud mouth jerks.

Fanbase has a lot to do with which teams are hated.

Everybody knows an ******* Cowboy fan. The Boston fan is the standard for obnoxious. This was even before they were winning. Boo Hoo, The Sox are cursed. We know, because you won;t shut the hell up about it. You don't hear Cubs fans whining like *******.

Pats fans are all bandwagoners too, Nobody gave a **** at all about football in Boston. It was the Sox, Celtics and even the Bruins. I remember at the pats first SB parade, the crown was chanting "Beat the Yankees".

Fast forward a few years, and pats fans act like they invented football. I can't wait for Brady and Belicheck to retore and they go back to the basement.
