Did I miss something? Did it turn ugly overnight? I thought we had a pretty decent convo going, surprised to see the thread gone..... just wondering.

Troy was said to of bashed ArtII and the current coaching staff to a writer and left on bad terms disgruntled but devoted his undying love for Dan.

Well it couldn't be any clearer than that.

I'm going to need some sort of compensation for the "Like" I lost in that thread. I think a year or two of Contributor will suffice.

I blame them snoopy reporters for trying to stir up a drama

It sure could be that, however if Troy is unhappy with Art II and has some actual negative comments about him or his methods I would be inclined to take Troys word over Art II. Troy generally behaves in the most exemplary way with regard to ethical behavior. He has earned the right by his history with the fan base and team to make comments. I can not ever remember him having said anything negative about anyone so if he did I would be inclined to believe it.

Why, though? Why would it be so hard to believe that Troy is having a little trouble with the fact that his career is over and he just isn't an impact player anymore? He is a great person, no doubt, but he is human, too. It is hard to come to grips with, so maybe he is allowing his frustration with that to spill over a bit.

Imagine you are, let's say 80 years old. Maybe you don't see real well, your reaction time isn't there and you are becoming a bit forgetful. Your kids come to you and say they are taking your driver's license, they don't think you should drive. Are you just going to say, "OK?" Or might you say a few things out of frustration that you might regret, even though they are your kids?

I just think this is overblown, and it might be more of what I am talking about.

Well Troy is a long way from 80, not senile, and made comments in the past about there being a time to end playing the game. He also knew it would come sometime and is smart enough to know that it will happen to him as well. There was no need for him to stay with the steelers if he wanted to play the game. He could likely have gone to another team. None of us have ever seen Troy act in a way that indicated any bit of a me first attitude it is a stretch to think it would start now. I believe a couple of years ago he got involved with a company that did investments and his thoughts at that time were to have something to do when he retires so he was anticipating the day, further he said his wife would be very pleased when he did.

Could it be an overblown story from a reporter that is indifferent to the facts, or just completely disregards them to spin things his own way sure. The less than honest reporting by the media is much easier to believe than problems between the management of the team and Troy. Next in Line would be Art II being pissy and Tomlin, Colbert and company causing problems on the believable scale. Last in my mind would be Troy having a tantrum or an ego issue, other player maybe, Troy really doubtful in my mind.

One more thing regarding ArtII and accuracy and truthfulness, "Bruce Arians is retiring" and the next day he unretired.
