I seem to have forgotten.

A fun snippet from the end of the article

Everything about the Titans defense on that third-and-23 play was wrong. Everything. Wrong.

They lined up stupid, they used a dumb coverage and they ran an idiotic pass-rush game up front to top it off. The one way Taylor had hurt them all day was with his legs, and the Titans handed him the perfect opportunity to do it again on a silver platter.

That is the kind of stuff that bad teams do. They find ways to lose even when they have an advantage. Until the Titans learn how to close out games, they will continue to lose, simple as that. And that goes for the coaching staff as well as the players.

And how has our "we have no talent, and can't ever do **** on defense" looked so far this year?

Things that make you go Hmmmmmmm,

Joe

With about 7 minutes left in the third, the **** were leading by 10 and their dumbass coach lost a 10 point lead to a team lead by Tyrod Taylor...

I'm not saying this situation validates every criticism of Lebeau ever, but I've always had a hard time believing that everyone we ever drafted or signed or traded for to play D under Tomlin just ended up sucking.

Focus more on the points/game and/or the 3-2 vs. 1-3 than yards per game.

So the record is totally on the defense? Interesting. Didn't they lose a game by giving up 14 points?

I think dicky turned their def around. They were ****,..well and still are no talent. He is getting the most out of them. I love dick (that's what she said), but I'm glad we moved on.

I've seen a lot out of Tennessee that they don't even recognize the defense from last year, in a good way. Our defense is playing better with a simple approach and that's great for us. Have nothing negative to say about LeBeau and the job he's doing in Tennessee.

Is that what I said? Weird. Seems like I was suggesting that it dont mean **** if your D is ranked in the top 5 of ypg if they are way down the list in ppg.

They gave up a 10pt lead to lose against a Tyrod Taylor lead offense....

Why does every one bash tyrod taylor? I think he is playing well so far..

People look at him, and think of running qbs who have failed. He's hitting 70% of his passes, a number Mike Vick has never even sniffed. Taylor was a low draft pick who got to sit on the bench for the Rats for 4 years instead of being thrown to the wolves, like say, Johnny Football. Given a chance to learn as a backup, he's playing surprisingly well. In the good old days, it wasn't rare for a young qb to sit the bench for a few years, until he was ready to play. Not like that anymore, and I think the league is worse off for it.

Last year Tennessee was 27th in terms of yard given up. This year they are 2nd. Amazing what a good coach can do.

Ok. Their O is 8th in ppg and their D is 18th in ppg. They are 1-3. Coincidence.

Which is why I pointed out that they lost a game when their offense scored 13 points and their defense just gave up 14. Just because you pile up points against Tampa Bay doesn't mean you are a good offense.

Yards per play (both pass and run) are virtually identical to the last 4 or 5 years.

And their D gave up a 10 point lead to lose that game. I'm pretty sure this site uses that as a standard of a subpar D.

Their O is #1 in ToP. That may or may not be related to the D getting other teams off of the field faster. No idea, though.

What is clear is that our lack of talent and the intellect of the head coach of the Steelers are fair game for criticism while they outperform the 'better' coach of the Titans, seems above reproach.

Agreed. And EEEEVVVVERRYOONNE knows that Coach LeBeau had/has a very hard time w/ mobile QB's...

I understand that the Steelers are above reproach with you guys. Butler is great and DL is horrible. I get it. Tenn and the Steelers are identical teams right? I mean taking over a team's defense that has never won a SB, been moved to a new city, and currently hasn't been in contention since right after the turn of the century is exactly the same as being a coach with the Steelers.

So the Steeler's have a better defense? Marvelous!

I'm not sure there are as many people who feel the Steelers are above reproach as there are who feel they do nothing right.

None of this clarifies why it's a good idea to play man coverage across the board when you have a running qb, and they have 20+ yards to go. None of it. It's one thing to make the right call and have the players fail, it's another to make the wrong call. That was the wrong call, period. And HOW MANY 3rd and forevers did this damn defense seem to give up over the years?

Anyway, I like Dick L, he seemed like a great guy, but oddly, this group of no good talentless scrubs seems to be holding up pretty well in Ben's absence, so yeah, it just makes me think MAYBE it wasn't just a lack of talent.

What are you talking about? Are you talking about one game? Really? One game out of an entire career? You really want to go there? How about Butler's "NO COVERAGE" of Gronk? Is that better?

Also this defense has played one good offense and gave up 28 points. They gave up over 400 yards to a SD team with a horrible OL. Also if you've watched the games they've had a ton of dropped balls that should have been TDs. NE had two.

Hey, Rex said he was gonna cover Gronk too, how'd that work out for him? We can go back and forth here forever, but what I kept reading last year was the defense sucked because of talent. This year they finally are getting some turnovers, we had 5 freaking sacks against the Ravens, and they are at least keeping this team in games. You can spin it any way you want, but the way I see it, there isn't a whole lot of talent difference, and this defense is looking better than it did last year. The yardage stat is meaningless to me, always has been, you want to rank defense, you need to do it by points allowed. At any rate, this teams defense looks better this year than last, and not much has changed. I stated it before, I loved DickL, but it was time for a change, waiting years for someone to understand his defense just wasn't paying off anymore, these young starters need to hit the field running. See, DuPree, Bud.
