Pick one offense and one defense. State why you would cut them.

A bit early for cuts at this time because we will be cutting guys later. If I had to pick some now it would be Laundry Jones and Dri Archer next on the list might be uncle Jarvis. Archer just does not seem to be able to do anything useful on the team and the same thing can be said for Laundry Jones if we need him in a game we are sol and we might as well have brad wing at QB, he was able to throw a pass that got us two points in a game all impromptu from a bobbled snap. When we had a running back go out dri could not fill in and when he goes out in a pattern he can't be seen. Jarvis made worilds look good and anybody else that had a pulse particularly the other teams tackle.

Dri comes to mind on the bubble, as does the others mentioned. Jarvis might get a nod because of draft status one last year. But last night picks hopefully jabbed at him a response of "oh ****".

Landry Jones- I could hold a clipboard and never see the field in a short and uninspiring career. He will never be Ben's immediate back-up.

On defense, it's a bit harder to drop someone like Uncle Jarvis, Mike Mitchell or Cortez Allen because we are thin in those spots as it is. So, I'm gonna say Dri Archer because I'm just about done with the "fast" gadget guys that will get broke in half in today's NFL.

Cam "TUB" Thomas! Seeing him get tossed around like a fat, slow slug last season was enough to make my skin crawl.

I can't see any possible way that Landry Jones is not finally cut

Damn, I forgot about him even having a roster spot. Surprised he wasn't left on the highway somewhere during a road game to fend for himself.

We have a 90 man roster. No one's getting cut anytime soon...

Lamar Woodley and Santonio Holmes...wait dammit, looks like I picked the wrong week week to quit amphetamines

The Jones Brothers.
Realistically I doubt they cut Jarvis because he was a first round pick but I could see Allen or Mitchell.
Basically the O is okay except for Jones and Archer, the D is more like "who do you keep?"

Yeah the logical ones are Thomas on D and Archer on O. Archer was never the spark plug he was billed as, At best he is a luxury and takes up a valuable RB spot from a backup we direly need ready. Thomas has two viable replacements behind him and was the worse Dlineman we had last year

Archer and L Jones.

Thing with L. Jones, he might not be all that but the team is going to keep 3 QB's regardless so if you cut him he'll be replaced by a warm body who isn't any better anyway. That's why those guys are the 3rd string QB.

Archer? Seriously? You want to cut a 3rd round pick who has only been given 10 carries?

Well, I guess he had his shot & blew it.

I would cut Landry Jones and take what I could get for jarvis, even if it is a seventh round pick.

Ask this question during the pre-season then we'll know for sure. Much too early and you better hope Jarvis Jones comes through this year or we'll be drafting another high round LB'er next year.

Archer's not going anywhere. Cam Thomas may be expendable depending on our draft. This is Landry's 3rd year. If he shows something this training camp, it will be worth it. If not, he's gone.

I think we draft a DE at some point and Cam Thomas is toast. Could be Michael Bennett in rd 3 or Henry Anderson

None of the three listed players have ANY shot of getting cut.

Jarvis Jones is still on his rookie deal, was injured most of last year, and showed improvement to start the year. They aren't going to give up on him in year 3.

Cortez Allen is going to be given every chance he can to regain his confidence and get back to the player that he was when they signed him long term. He had taken over for Ike guarding the other teams best WR by the end of 2013. He had a down year in the first year of his new contract, he played hurt, but never whined or complained about getting less playing time. He tried to fight thru it the best he could. He'll have a full offseason in which he said he would watch every single play of his and work on the things that he did wrong. You don't cut a player like that.

Mitchell wasn't as bad as people here make him out to be. He was also playing hurt, and in an entirely new defensive scheme. But by the end of the last year, his play had improved quite a bit. Getting him healthy will be big. Plus we aren't exactly swimming in S depth, so they aren't going to cut him and weaken an already weak position.

Cam Thomas has the most realistic shot of getting cut, with the emergence of Tuitt last year and having McClendon back healthy, and McCullers going into his second year, Thomas becomes expendable.

On offense, they aren't going to get rid of Archer (unfortunately). I just don't see anyone getting the ax. The only way we might see that is if we draft a RB and say goodbye to Josh Harris.

Agreed, especially if they pick up a prospect like Lott, Walton or McCarthy - or really, any D-line guy - these next two days.
