Certainly not at QB and O-line.
Injuries can create playing time and if you took a poll of likeliest Steelers to be injured in 2019, Conner, Tuitt and McDonald would certainly be in the top 5.
We could be an injury to any of these 3 to having a rookie starting at TE, RB or DE. Even without an injury to McDonald, James played 50% of the offensive snaps
in 2018, so a rookie beating out Grimble will get considerable playing time.
At RB if no significant injuries occurs, a rookie RB could get occasional carries.
At DE we only have 1 veteran back-up, so a rookie DE could work himself into a rotational player.
At WR we have a big loss of Brown, so any rookie drafted will be thrown into the mix to compete for playing time. A high pick that excels could work into a starter role, but
more than likely works into multiple WR sets.
A ILB taken in first round would compete with Barron for playing time. Taken after 1st likely sits and watches.
A OLB taken high could compete with Dupree, otherwise works for rotational snaps.
A CB taken will compete with Hilton and Sutton for slot corner duties or 1 taken high, could work outside shifting Nelson to slot.
Dimebacker role is wide open. If Steelers get Bush, I could see Steelers using Bush/Barron in Mack/Dimebacker roles. If Steelers don't get Bush, they likely grab a safety
early to fill that role.
I think the Steelers feel vulnerable at TE, RB and DE because of injury history and could take players in the draft earlier at these positions than many expect.
If they get Bush in the first, they will not put a priority on getting a dimebacker, if they don't they will.
Positions of highest need in draft based on available playing time in 2019: 1. ILB/Dimebacker, 2. TE, 3. WR, 4. CB, 5. DE, 6.RB
