i hope its better over there,, because it tastes like ***.

I had their extra export in Malaysia back in the 90's.
Regular Guiness is about 4% ABV, the export was about 9. It had a very heavy taste to balance the high alcohol content... it was fairly thick.
I was with some heavy drinkers but we didn't ( couldn't lol) throw too many back :D.
We were amazed tha Malaysia, a muslim country where alcohol sales were limited and choices were few, had such a strong ale.

Yep
Like DIC, I homebrewed for about 25 years and learned that most beers are best at a very cool but not cold temp. It allows you to taste every part of the bber's profile without numbing your taste buds with the cold.

One exception. I found this one very light cherry beer that was actually designed to be poured over ice. It definitely was a “lady” beer. My wife at the time, most of her friends as well, liked it very much.

I don’t remember much about that beer other than being designed to be poured over ice and low ABV (2-3 %)

Salute the nation

So, what was the announcement? I worked all day, and didn't see a thing.

Guinness should NEVER be iced down.
It should be served under room temperature but well above “freezing”.
Better taste and flavor profile when closer to room temperature.
And a completely different taste altogether in Ireland/UK than the States.

Joke Triumph owners used to tell:

Q: Why do the Brits drink their beer warm?
A: Because Lucas makes their refrigeration.

And while I like Guinness, I prefer Kilkenny.
