It's first game so the starter likely won't play much or at all. Early preseason is always about the rookies and the young players.

The easy answer would be Bush, but not for me. I think I know what we'll get from Bush. I'm not certain he'll be a star but i'd be shocked if he's not a good starter from nearly day 1. Yeah I want to see him but I don't see him as a question mark so I'm not as interested in seeing him as some others.

Same with Snell. I feel I already know what he's about. He'll probably look like a beast vs the future stockboys he'll be facing in the second half.

What do I most want to see?

1. Edmunds - has the potential to be a star. He flashed playmaking ability last year. If he can put it together and become a real playmaker, it can really set this defense off.

2. James Washington - if he can start on the outside, then it means JuJu can move around and create mismatches.

3. Backup TE - they must have a ton of faith in Grimble. I don't. They are screwed if Vance gets hurt. I'm not sure Gentry will make the final 53 unless he shows he can block. I have a feeling the steelers could add a free agent or trade for a backup TE.

Im curious about the backup QB battle I heard Devlin Hodges is looking impressive. If he continues his implied ascent I wouldnt be surprised if he makes it as the 3rd QB. Im with you on the TE situation I still think we will try to bring someone else in. Also curious about some of the young WRs and if they can bump someone like switzer or rogers off the roster.

Somebody has to step up and play cornerback, so I wanna see at least one of these guys shine.

29 Allen, Brian ....... 31 Layne, Justin ........... 22 Nelson, Steven .........25 Burns, Artie

No injuries.

I did not like the Dobbs pick. Hodges has Tomlin's attention. It could get interesting.

I know it's NOT a time for coaching display as they aren't really coaching a true game. But if a coaching call comes into play, I'd like to think our coaching is a little more "UP". Maybe see the new challenge coach on display.

A-N-D

Pre-season is a great time to see Special Teams action as well and the coaching of said STs. This is one place where players are truely being tested to the highest degree as most careers hinge on their play here.

Salute the natiomn

You know, Mason Rudolph could be the odd man out. Aside from the first day or two of camp, haven't heard much about Rudolph, positive or negative.

I think they'll add a veteran TE some time before the season, I can't see them going into the season with Grimble as the only option aside from McDonald. The guys on SNR say Gentry, the TE they drafted is definitely not NFL ready, McDonald has had a bit of an injury history, so they almost have to add someone.

I want to see Ola, he's having a great camp. James Washington and the rest of the WR's not named JuJu. The QB battle will be interesting as well.

Also, will there ever be a bigger preseason FG attempt than Boswell's first? Fans will actually be on the edge of their seats for that one. LOL

As stated by others, I am interested in the QB and TE b/u situations most of all. I do want to see what the new FA's (Nelson and Crief) bring to the table if they get much time. I do want to see Bush going up against some blockers. I didn't watch him much in college so I only have highlight clips to watch and very few of them ever show him taking on and shedding a block.

I also double down on Coach's comment...no injuries.

Somebody, anybody, showing they can play the Z receiver position....

I think Washington will show adequate...But a wait and see......

Oh I want to see all the matchups, every possible positional battle. And the rookies.....And the free agents.....

Oh and by the way, its ******* great that football is back. This offseason was straight garbage.

I'd like to see some of the 2 back sets they keep talking about. Also keeping eye on the secondary for improvement.

This has kinda bugged me too. Dobbs gets the start. Hodges has been a camp darling and crickets on Rudolph. And I wouldn't have a problem with it being Dobbs, but I haven't seen anything that would lead me to believe he really is the guy when Ben is done. Maybe what really happens Ben plays till he is done they suffer a horrible year and take a QB high. Or if one of these guys plays for extended period of time and they have a high pick and use it on a QB hopefully smarter than the Giants did.

Rudolph started out stronger than Dobbs but has tapered off. Dobbs is probably having the slightly better camp.at this point. But that is splitting hairs. Preseason will sort the now out. ;)

unless Boswell nails his FG right down the middle...

I know it isn't game situational, but he had a good camp up to this point.

I know historically the starters see very little or no action, but I would hope they play more in preseason this year to avoid coming out flat again the first real game.

No injuries, Bush and the secondary.

Dale did an artilce on them a couple days ago. I didn't get the impression that MR has fallen off. In fact, Dale indicates the competition is pretty close. The part I most grabbed on to were Fichtner's quotes. Sounds to me that the team projects MR into the long term plans. Of course that can change at any time based on performance, but it just sounds like they are in no rush with him. They just expect him to keep working and improving.

This, and I would like to see how the new additions look obviously. Bush, Barron, Buggs, Snell, Nelson, Johnson etc. Would like to see Boswell knock some through in a game situation to really get his confidence on track.
