Still not even limited which means he isn't going to play even by next week. What did he do to that thing? Even sprained ligaments should be better by now. Cripes.

Don't know, but I hope he had surgery on it and they kept it quiet. This some straight bullshit

Cope's injury report, it's a sticky at top of football only forum, show Gilbert knee but no explaination. He has been inactive 6 weeks, seems like a long time

Salute the nation

He had surgery during the bye week. Steelers are mum on that, though. He was limited last week but appears to have regressed. Dude can't stay healthy. Feiler deserves team MVP for holding down the right side with DD.

Steelers are getting greasy on reporting injuries. Same with Conner. They either made up the contusion story or they straight up need a new medical staff. Look at the replay. His ankle wasn't hit. It was bent. I found that story fishy from the start.

That's really the only explanation. Surprised they didn't IR him for a return but guessing they didn't know he would be out this long.

Unknown. I will say this Matt Feiler is growing on me. He's not just a back up, he's playing well. He's also much cheaper on the cap.

Which brings me to the practice point and the talent evaluation of the coaching staff. The coaching staff saw Fieler many times in 2017 ( including one start for a game ), and for many practices during the regular season. I think they did not know what they had. If they knew he was this good, the Steelers would not have spent a 3rd round pick on another tackle with Gilbert as the starter with a then un-injured knee.

Currently neither of our starting tackles were drafted.

I'd say if Gilbert comes back at all he is playing his last games as a Steeler. Cap casualty. Two capable and cheaper players behind him.

bring fieler back and a 3 man competition chukes fielier and Hawkins.

Great point. Hawkins will be back next year, and was on schedule to be the backup swing this year. I expect him to have an impact next season.

7 weeks. WTF is this tool not on injured reserve. You have had to expose players to waivers. Hell for that matter you could stash Boswell with no helmet on gamedays and bring him back next year if it offends you to eat his contract. What is wrong with the medical staff/ Tomlin.

he just eat 20 oz steaks all summer. and his ankles are officially giving up.

They were not living in their fears

He has never been healthy since he go suspended for PED'S.

Always a fat lazy slacker that miraculously got in shape in his contract year. His replacements have been just as good for a fraction of the salary, don;t let the door hit you wear the good lord split your fat ***.
