You're a week late w/ this news, Coach...and "no" he won't make it...
I think any UFA is a long shot and tend to think a few O-linemen will make it over a even longer shot S.
BUT that is why they play the game. Preseason will reveal who catches on quick and who doesn't.............

Odds are against it. But long shots do come through on occasion. Here is a small tidbit of info.... a 13th round selection Deacon Jones seemed to do ok in the nfl and he was not looked at as having much of a chance.

I think he's a long shot too, however our talent at safety is rather thin. The Steelers keep 5-6 safeties each year.
so are the browns in 2015 but they all signed and picked players from the same pool of talent. Point is simply this sometimes long shots make it and do well....what round was Antonio Brown taken in? And here is a guy that was undrafted for various reasons one poor showings regarding speed etc.
An undrafted rookie, Burfict managed to make the Cincinnati Bengals' roster. He played in all 16 games and started 14 of those, finishing the seasons as the Bengals' top tackler with 127 combined tackles, including 18 tackles in their final game of the year against the Baltimore Ravens. When Burfict was on field, the Bengals defense allowed 2.4 yards fewer per play, allowing 4.5 compared to 6.9 when he was off the field.[8]
For incidents that occurred in the 34–30 win over the Green Bay Packers in week 3 of the 2013 season, Burfict was fined a total of $31,000.[39] He had hit a defenseless receiver (James Jones) and struck an opponent in the groin (Ryan Taylor).[40]
Burfict finished the 2013 season leading the NFL in tackles with 171, and was the only Bengals defensive player who was selected to the Pro Bowl. He was the first Bengals linebacker to make the Pro Bowl since Jim LeClair in 1976.
I really do not need you to help me decide what I need to do or not do. Listed below is the 1961 draft for the AFL which happened before the nfl draft of 1961. Players selected are listed, some of the names might be familiar. Interestingly enough the players selected came from colleges and universities just as did the NFL players, some of them managed to find places in the hall of fame so they were rather good but every player selected by the AFL was selected prior to the players in the NFL, sounds like that moves him down the draft board or at least shows there were more players selected before him than you acknowledge. Because another league was in competition for the class of 1961 college stars, the American Football League draft for 1961 graduates was actually held in 1960, with a six-round telephone draft on November 23, that saw the Denver Broncos select New Mexico State's Bob Gaiters as the overall first draft pick. The draft was completed on December 5 and 6th, with rounds seven through thirty. The San Diego Chargers drafted as the "Los Angeles Chargers" in this draft, as their relocation would not take place until after the 1960 season was completed.
