So last game, against KC, we had our first injured player of the season on the active roster. Sean Davis. Now Sean did practice on Friday, but was limited. Since 7 players were listed as out, he was placed as an active player. He wouldn't have played a single snap, except DHB hurt his shoulder, so Mr Davis got a few special teams snaps. If the team was healthier, Sean wouldn't have had any snaps, and probably would have been inactive.

This week looks even worse. Instead of one injured active player, there may be as many as 4 active players that will see no snaps. The NFL designates 7 inactive players each week for injured players (and a 3rd QB who can still play in emergency situations). Senquez Golson's inactive position is already starting to hinder this team on gameday. Since he won't be ready until December, he will occupy an inactive slot until then. Today, Tomlin already ruled out Eli Rogers and Cody Wallace (who hasn't been active for a single game this year). Marcus Gilbert is in a walking boot and his injury appeared to be significant on replay, so although he is listed as questionable, I am saying he will not play this week. That is 4 of the 7 inactive slots for this upcoming game vs the Jets.

The other 3 slots remaining will have to be decided between the following players:

Ryan Shazier MCL strain Right knee
Robert Golden Hamstring
Jarvis Jones Sprained Left Ankle
Anthony Chickillo Left Knee
Ramon Foster Chest (Bruised Sternum)
Roosevelt Nix Back
Ryan Harris Hematoma (Leg) listed as questionable today by Tomlin.

We'll see this week how these players progress in practice. Nix has practiced, albeit limited, for the past 2 weeks. If he practices at all this week, even limited, I believe he will be listed as active

DHB and Sean Davis have the green light this week according to Tomlin's presser.

We are getting to an interesting situation that the Steelers may need to cut Cody Wallace to activate an OL from the practice squad. If Ryan Harris and Foster can't go, I expect this move to happen. It's going to be an interesting game, and if the Steelers don't get healthy soon, the injuries and depth will catch up with them.

I saw Jarvis get his ankle rolled on during the game. He had a decent game too

Mostly all defense - doesn't matter

As long as Ben and his weapons are healthy, that's all we need to win

As much as I like Roosevelt Nix he's a hammer and a damn good special teamer, the dude is really wasting a roster spot. He hasn't been healthy in two years. I don't even think he participated in camp, if I'm not mistaken. Either IR him or let him go. Especially when you consider all that's going on. Everybody brings up Golson (I agree about how he's wasting a spot as well) but this is another one.

While the Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t likely to have starting right tackle Marcus Gilbert this Sunday for their home game against the New York Jets, it doesn’t appear as the mid-foot injury that he suffered Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs will end his season.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com, Gilbert is expected to miss the Sunday home game against the Jets, however, his left foot/ankle injury is not a worst-case scenario and thus he should be able to return in a reasonable amount of time.

Gilbert suffered his injury in the first half of the game against the Chiefs when his got trapped underneath a pile of falling players. During his Tuesday press conference, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin listed him as highly questionable for Sunday’s home game against the Jets.

Gilbert has missed just four games due to injuries dating back to the 2013 season. The former second-round draft pick had his best season to date in 2015 and was playing well again this season prior to going down injured.

Gilbert’s backup, Ryan Harris, also suffered an injury Sunday night and Tomlin listed him as questionable for the Jets game on Tuesday. Harris reportedly suffered a hematoma to one of his legs and should he ultimately be unable to play against the Jets, reserve offensive lineman Chris Hubbard will start at right tackle.

If Timmons can come back one week after "severing an artery" in his leg - Harris better rub some dirt on it and man up for Sunday...

Don't be a snowflake and play ball! I hope the mash unit empties out by seasons end

I think Harris at least suits up....
