WTF happened to Demarcus Ayers? We need a Punt Returner!

A Punt Returner is someone who can make the first guy downfield miss. Eli Rogers can't do that! Why is he back there fielding punts?

And I certainly don't wanna see AB back there fielding punt returns either. He's our best weapon on offense!

Eli for me would be benched after today's performance.
 
Eli looks like he is trying to get out of bounds and does not have that quick KR burst.
 
Is there anyway we can get back Ayers?

Ayers didn't want to join the Steelers practice squad so he signed with the patriots instead, but was cut yesterday when some of the patsie wrs seemed to be getting healthier....

so he is out there if the Steelers want him and he is not too big of a ******** to return.....
 
Eli fumbles punts, he doesnt return them.
 
Hell Tomlin still had Eli back there late in the fourth Fielding a punt a the ten. Now you know damn well it's either going to be a fair catch or your guys isn't going to field, why not have AB back there?

demote Eli to inactive for next game, bring Ayers to receive punts. Keep Juju in the slot

Not blaming the returner, but isn't that a horrible coaching move to not have AB there late in the game when all that he's going to do is fair catch

It seems as though this team could use some practice at the fundamentals of tackling. At times they looked like they were going swimming.
 
At least Ayers is a tough SOB. He'll fight for yards after the catch, and yards on punt returns.

But I have a hunch the injury that kept him sidelined for much of the preseason has lingered.

You do make a play for AYERS if he is mentally stable and healthy. Test his skill and injury and if all looks good, you make room on PS and bring up as necessary.

Is AYERS mature enough for that,............................ not sure but he needs to come clean and take ownership

Thank the CBA as you know they are only allowed 16 full pad practices during the season. I'm sure that contributes to lack of fundamentals, least ways in pads.

Under Tomlin there never is attention to detail, a huge difference between him and the great coaches.a Same problems recur year after year after year.
