My feed is throwing tons of clips my ways. Hines Ward came up in there. Man I miss him. I grew up catching the tail end of the 70s. Loves Swann but he retired. Me and my friends would act like we were Stallworth catching passes in the back yard.

Fast forward to me throwing passes to my own son and he would pretend he was Hines. I miss those days and the 1000s of passes to my kid.

I also miss Hines Ward. Probably my all time favorite WR of the Steelers and up there with my all time over all favorites.

I am done reminiscing now. Here is to our upcoming season. Lead us to the glory land A A Ron!!!! I just want one more before I go. Now is as good as anytime. 🤪

1 year at training camp my kid was picked to go over the little fence and meet a steeler. It was Hines ward. I saw him dancing for her. He was asking if she saw him on dancing with the stars. Prerry cool time. I do love me some Hines ward!

saw a video titled something like The Steelers just hit harder than everyone else

it went though highlights of the various LBs and Safeties crushing people then showed Ward laying out the bungle LB and the hit on Reed...they just don't make them like him

I loved after every big hit on him by the opposing team he would simply get up smiling right in their face. Ward was one of the greats in my opinion. A HOFer.

Great memories stillwright, appreciate yaz.!

When my kids went of to college, one of the biggest things I missed was playing catch. Didn’t matter what kind of ball, just being able to play catch.

My daughter did both the academics, but also a pretty good athlete. She liked the Raiders and Gannon. She a a great arm and was known as the Gannon Cannon.

My STEELERS memories are endless. Before the internet, it was a struggle to get games / news / etc. I pursued every avenue to try and stay current.

Joe Green changed this franchise, but also know that they didn’t start winning big until Franco came onto the scene. The 70s were absolutely amazing.

Everyone talks about how bad the 80s were. Let me tell you that I don’t think they were that bad. These last 8 years of winless PO participation, playing for a non-losing season trophy and continuous feeling of doom being repeated over and over and over and over and over………….

Bottom line is in any ERA of the Steelers football history, one can find great hits / great plays / great record-settting feats, completely with the FANDOM of the Nation.

I get those fb reels all the time. I love them. I remember when the Steelers beat the cowboys in the sb. I don't remember which time, but I had to run out and play football in the front yard, I was so pumped.

Loved the Big Ben era obviously, but the 80's were kind of a blur for me. I was in college, got married, had a kid, got divorced, started, then lost a business. I was busy, and Emperor Noll's last few years were not as exciting.

These days it's just the life-long passion that drives it. There is no reason for kids to become Steeler fans these days. When I was a kid, it was super common.

I won't make too many efforts to watch games, as they often conflict with church, and that is important to us. Still, I'll be around, and watch some.

Thanks for the thread. Go Steelers.

I remember the 80's like yesterday. My cousin and I would be hanging out somewhere arguing with our friends (who were mostly Eagle fans) about how great the Steelers were going to be every season. I think we would actually convince ourselves we had a shot at the SB....LOL

The 80s was not as bad as remember. made it to the afc Championship in 84 or 85 and if I recall correctly was leading 14-0 before reality set in.
made the playoffs 4 or 5 times. we had a winning record n the 80s.
the 89 season was amazing. started out 0-2. 92-10 was the combined score and then made the playoffs WON A PLAYOFF GAME! almost beat Denver the next week! and Noll was Coach of the year for shockingly was the only time he won that.!

the 80s just felt bad because how great the 70s were and how good the 90s ended up.

ps if any of this is wrong apologies.
