I'll be the first to admit that after the lackluster of last year I had my doubts. I'm glad I was wrong.

He looked great in preseason camp last year too. Lead the team in combat catches.

I am VERY eager for Washington t step up and be a stud. But I am also VERY realistic about training camp dominance. Means nothing when game 1 rolls around.

I think his separation in the game showed some improvement, key is carrying it over and into the season obviously. But I love the start.

I am excited about this development
He is already better than his forefather George Washington, except for maybe in the leadership department
And still working towards besting his brother from another mother, Nate Washington in the skills department
Keep it up ... youngan

Can he cover ground as big as the state of Washington or is he bogged down in the Washington DC swamp...............?

Oh and not to lose sight on Washington, the receiver, I'm liking his GIANT step in the right direction.

he looked good, but it is just a preseason game. Hopefully he really has taken a big leap forward

Doesn't need to regarding your first enquiry as Seattle is coming to our battleground on September 15th ...Just has to catch a few long bombs from General Benedict Roethlisberger ( hopefully he doesn't have one of those days where he switches sides and serves up some INTs)

But in regards to the second question .....he is destined to have a monster game , 243 yards to be exact (one yard for every year since his last attack on New Jersey in 1776) a massacre in the meadowlands followed by the onset of gangrene and the demise of gang green

can't wait

that concludes are history lesson for today.... salute the nation
now back to our regular programming

I know he had some great moments last preseason, but what struck me as different this game when I watched some guys breaking down his routes and catches, he was much more nuanced and smooth. Example, he caught the majority of his balls in college lined up on the right side of the field. And I don't remember him being on the left too much last season.

But that 43-yard reception that if Dobbs just had more air under the ball, he would have taken it to the house, he was lined up on the left side, made a good out and in move -- and then great adjustment to the ball in the air. The crosser later in the game, was lined up on the left side again and showed good awareness to find the empty zone.

That toe tap in the EZ was close and he seemed to show great awareness of where he was, it was just a hair off. Granted, he needs to show this in regular season games, but I thought it looked night and day from preseason of last year, especially after seeing all the analysis from guys smarter than me breaking down his performance.

Ok I will try and refrain from bringing up Tomlin in other threads not dedicated to bashing him.

I think he means the coach on this board. If you meant Tomlin you might want to use different verbiage not to confuse the two.

Yes, no doubt, but what I liked were his very good hands in catching the crossing route and later the back-shoulder TD. Clean receptions both times and indeed the entire game. He also caught what was darn near a TD in the corner of the endzone. A receiver who can catch the ball cleanly when a defender is on his hip, like the TD catch and near TD, can make contested catches.
