There will be some competition in camp this year?

He looks a little better than I thought but also remember these are highlights, his best plays grouped. On one interception, another DB hit the receiver way to soon thus allowing the interception. A PI call in the NFL, just saying he will be good competition and hoping good enough to overcome someone, that's the ultimate goal to get better.

Yep....will be interesting to see where Tocho will be slotted into the mix. Right now I don't see him creating a spot unless he is a ST ace.

The Steeler roster has Brian Allen also listed as a CB but Ourlads has him as a Safety ...We'll have to wait to see where the team slots him too.

RCB 00 Nelson, Steven U/KC 25 Burns, Artie 16/1 20 Sutton, Cameron 17/3 00 Branch, Marcelis SF19

LCB 23 Haden, Joe SF17 28 Hilton, Mike SF16 35 Waters, Herb SF18

NB 28 Hilton, Mike SF16

Since we usually only keep 5 and we are bound to draft at least one more.....

I'm thinkin' that young fellow got a.....

Brian Allen didn't become a CB until late in his college career. This will be his 3rd year in the league. He very well may take a big leap this year as he says he now knows what he is supposed to do and is working on his speed and quickness. I am pulling for him because he is one big freaking CB.

Can't be any worse the number one pick Burns

My first impression, after watching the highlights (nice point DIC), was that we just signed Artie Burns 2.0 - but then I watched again...

His game is kind of similar to that of Mike Hilton's. He's going to have to battle to get on the field...

cut burns

IDK Omar, they had about the same scenario with Jarvis Jones and the kept him around without picking up his 5th year option. I'm not sure what that option year is worth but it would have to be low enough to pay the $800K roster bonus + his new salary for basically a so-so special teamer and a pretty ****** back up CB.

( I was too curious about the option year dollars...)

The deadline for the Steelers to pick up Burns 2020 fifth-year option year for this offseason will likely be around the first of May, and thus after the 2019 NFL Draft takes place. That 2020 option-year amount is also likely to come in at around $10 million or more. In summation, we should expect that deadline date to pass without the Steelers taking any action. It should be an easy decision for the Steelers just like it was in 2016 when the team declined to pick up the fifth-year option on outside linebacker Jarvis Jones. While Jones did go on to play out his final contract year with the Steelers, it wound up being his last season in the NFL as he failed to make the roster of the Arizona Cardinals in 2017 after signing with them as an unrestricted free agent earlier that offseason

Tocho never lived up to what we expected at NC State. Playing behind a really good front 6-7, the ball skills just never developed. Of course the same could be said about that entire secondary, so he didn't have much support there. Had some injuries that didn't help either. Smart, good kid from a good family, so I hope he turns out to be another Hilton.

Trade him if possible.

Coach, that's easy to scream but much more difficult to do. You see, you have to find someone who would trade for him. The STEELERS won't just up and cut him as they have been around way to long. They will explore the "trade" market and if no takers, then will outright cut if that is the decision they make.
