After deciding to leave in free agency to go to his hometown team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, defensive end Tyson Alualu has had a change of heart and is returning to Pittsburgh to play for the Steelers in the 2021 season.

We don’t have much more beyond what Tom Pelissero shared on Twitter just moments ago:

After initially agreeing to terms with the #Jaguars, veteran DE Tyson Alualu had a change of heart and now is re-signing with the #Steelers on a two-year deal, per sources.

Crazy backstory: Tyson Alualu was going to sign with the #Jaguars, but couldn’t make the trip after testing positive for COVID, per sources. He’d built his dream home in Pittsburgh, has kids in school, and with 10 days to think, he decided to stay. https://t.co/oeVQv9W2ie

But this is certainly good news for the Steelers, who had lost some big names on defense throughout the first couple weeks of free agency. This will help to re-solidify their front seven and hopefully allow them to continue to build a Super Bowl contending team.

Good should save us from spending a mid rnd pick on a 2 down dl hopefully buggs will be the that replaces tuitt as good as he is he is on the wrong side of 30 and paying him what he is worth would be a mistake. I wouldn’t mind if we toke a fat clogger late like rnd 6 to groom in to be the nt in the long run. I liked the athletic ability from what I saw of Henry m

This is great news... he absolutely is an early down stud and really was leaving for reasons other than money... deciding to stay is going to stabilize the run d with two newish starters at Lb

There is something to said in "playing for PITTSBURGH"..!

Welcome back and the "cap" hit seems or should be friendly as well.

Nice work Jordan, thanks.

that is the best news o far this season!!!

Great news and don’t have to address the position early in the draft. Colbert isn’t done as well addressing some other positions before the draft. I wouldn’t be surprised to see another lineman added (OT and/or C) and potentially a LB. It seems like years past he likes to have most of his starters secured before the draft.

What is the deal? Did Tuitt rob a bank or something recently? Third or fourth time in a week I've seen someone talking about getting rid of him.
Tuitt is only 27 years old.
He's coming off of arguably his best season as a pro.
His contract isn't up until after the 2022 season. And, if he continues to play like he did last year, he'll get another one ... from the Steelers.

He must of noticed how many leave and are out in 3 or less years after leaving the Burg

Agreed. Tuitt is a beast for us. Love the guy. And young enough to gain another contract

After the best season a nose has had in the last 15 years here, perhaps in the NFL, Alualu is coming back.

WE got our NOSE back, boys!

NOW we got a good chance at a ring i believe. All that's left is for noodle-arm to strengthen and to go get a stiff Left Tackle and we're in business, boys!

I mean have you been to Jacksonville? My least favorite visit out of all my Florida seens. Then you have that team that is picking number 1 overall. Not sure which mention is the bigger shithole. At this point in his career I am thinking whatever is offered on either team is probably peanuts in comparison. So you have this beautiful home, your kids are in school and you hear the riot act how they don't want to uproot. Ol girl isn't happy because they aren't happy. Your teammates are saying bruh stay why go? You are down to your last Tomlin cliche, hey. **** it I am staying, ol girl is back to laying. The universe is as it should be. See?

You are hilarious.

Sorry but for me, Tuitt is overrated. He disappears in too many games. Many of his sacks last year didn't show up until late games. Sure, they still count but where was he the entire game. I just didn't see him doing much in games I watched. It seemed he wasn't getting much push at the line. He's not dominant and doesn't usually get a double team like Watt and Heyward constantly do. I'm just not a huge fan like many on here. Heyward is by far the main guy of our front 3. Tuitt is 2nd. If you throw in the OLB's, it would be Watt, Heyward and then Tuitt. If Bud were coming back, he'd be ahead of Tuitt as well.

But, Alualu coming back is huge. We still need a long-term solution at nose but this gives Davis and Buggs another year rotating in and out with Alualu. Davis past up Buggs in his rookie season but hopefully both can make a nice leap this year so they can be the main guys when Alualu does leave.

You went to the wrong places.Go to the beaches! Neptune,Atlantic,Amelia Island or south of Jacksonville in St.Johns County. You'll enjoy Ponte Vedra Beach and St.Augustine..

People are moving here to St.Johns County like we stuck gold or something.
I've never seen anything like it.

Glad that Alualu is back, but I wish he would have made that decision earlier. Then the Steelers most likely would not have felt some sort of pressing need to re-sign Wormley, who is as useless as a second dick.

You are hilarious.
You watch. Noodle-arm will get stronger. And somebody gonna fill in it decent at LT.

Then we gonna win games on our Defense perhaps scoring 20-25 points per w/ Ben
