There are reports of JJ Watt coming back for the Texans in the playoffs after suffering a torn pec a little over a month ago. I believe Tuitt got the same injury before JJ.. so I am wondering if he would be eligible and ready for return if we make playoffs. That would be huge.

Depends on when they did the surgery and how bad the tear on it was. Ideally you let the guy heal for next year so he is fully healthy. If he can get healthy in time for a playoff run that would be good but I would not expect him to be healthy in time.

Unlikely... there are severities to tears... and the worse thing you can do with that kind of injury is rush back before it’s totally mended.... even if he did, he wouldn’t be in playing shape...

It sucks but the plan should be to come out firing on all cylinders next year...

Yeah I guess it depends on the surgery. None of the estimated healing times on Tuitt had him back this year. And Watt was hurt later. Me thinks that is pure fantasy.
P.S. I read the report. It worded that Watt could play even by week 17. It also said that in the worst case scenario if he re injured he could have relatively routine surgery and be ready for next season. So I'm going to put that together and say he did not have surgery which is completely different than Tuitt. He is like a partially torn biceps that doesn't require surgery. It will heal. When he made his statement about his season ending, he probably thought he needed surgery.

I don’t see us with having a realistic chance to go deep into the playoffs. We’re pretty much playing with house money. It’d be shortsighted to rush Tuitt back for a short lived playoff run.

Offense wins games, DEFENSE wins championships.

That said, we need to score enough points for our defense to do its thing. Yesterday was an improvement over what we saw from Rudolph save for the first Cincy game.

Timing wise, the way IR works:

Tuitt could be reactivated Week 15, but probably won't.

The odd thing is Sean Davis, who is well beyond the timeline to return from shoulder. He was eligible to return since week 11.

It’s not odd, just strategic.. they have zero need for anyone else in the secondary... they are decimated on offense. Activating him means cutting someone either productive on defense or losing one of the many beat up guys on offense... unless there is a need for it, it makes little sense...

Yep, he's just an ace in the hole if we have an injury in the secondary.

Davis sucks

Davis > Kelly or Dangerfield
