The ink wasn't even dry on Stephon Tuitt's new 60 million dollar contract when the Steelers kicked off in Cleveland on Sunday. His day would soon be over after he left the game with a 'left arm' injury.

It is believed that he suffered some type of injury to his left bicep, but they won't know the extent of the injury until he undergoes an MRI today.

The worst case senario for he and the Steelers would be a distal tendon tear at the elbow. After viewing the video of the injury it appears that the movement of the arm wouldn't cause a distal tendon tear. If he did suffer one his season would most likely be over. Typical recovery time after surgery is 3-4 months. If the Steelers are afforded the luxury of bringing him back for the playoffs he may be able to return by then.

It's also possible that it could be a minor injury. A proximal long head of biceps tendon tear would only keep him out for 1-3 weeks. There also is another senario that would involve a tear of the actual muscle. While those are rare it would depend on the severity to determine how long he would be out.

Mark Kaboly, of DKPITTSBURGHSPORTS, also reported that he saw Tuitt post game without a sling and carrying a duffle bag with his injured arm.

Hopefully this leads us into some positive news today after the MRI results are known.

Fingers crossed! If I could cross my toes I'd do that too !

Good stuff.. hoping for the 1-3 week injury!

Hoping for the best!! Would be great to have that D-line intact for a while.. seems like we're always asking "what if?"

Depends on the bicep injury. ProFootballDoc on twitter had a good article about bicep tears and how Tuitt could be back soon if its not the main tear. Fingers crossed. Otherwise its IR to return late in the year

I mean did you even read what I posted?

As I've stated in a few threads already, even worse case scenario, he has a chance to be back this season in 3-4 months.

A little birdie may have just Tweeted out something about Fake News. No teeth to the comment but if I had a guess it has to do with this injury.

Him missing significant time will be almost as bad as when Heyward was out last year. Hope he comes back sooner rather than later.

Rapoport just tweeted that Tuitt is week-to-week. Basically "OK". Not lost for the season by any stretch.

Some good news for the #Steelers. Source says DE Stephon Tuitt is week-to-week with a biceps injury. Not season-ending. “He’s OK,” one said.

YES if true!!!!!!!!!!

I am waiting to hear an official report now. It looked like a bicep tear when it happened live. If he can someone only be out 3-4 weeks that would be AMAZING!!

Actually both can be true. I'm no doctor but players can play through a tear on the upper part of the bicep which doesn't require surgery. I think Suggs from the Ravens did it twice (once to each arm) and played through both times. Tearing the lower part does require surgery and is what causes the season-ending injuries.

exactly. Hope they rest him for however long he needs it and we can get him back on the field. No reason to rush him back right away.

I'm pretty sure we have nothing to worry about them rushing him to play but if he can play and not injure it anymore than strap em up!!

All this whistling past the graveyard is meaningless without that MRI report

Report: Steelers' Tuitt week to week with biceps injury
Michael Amato Sep 11, 2017 1:21 PM
Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Stephon Tuitt is week to week with a biceps injury, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The Steelers reportedly feared the injury was much worse and that Tuitt would miss the remainder of the season with a torn biceps, but Rapoport notes this injury won't end his campaign.

More to come.

Well, this day might've just gotten a lot better.

Cam Heyward just spoke in @steelers locker room and said Stephon Tuitt's injury is 'not season ending.'

Hope Dr Heyward will tell us officially soon - probably not till press conference tomorrow
