If you listen to that video I took "them" to be the country not paying, not Russia.
If you listen again maybe he did mean Russia.
But then again, I would have a hard time believing Trump would openly advise Russia to do whatever they want.

The inability to articulate clearly using 8th grade grammar is Trumps biggest problem.

I think what he meant was, if you’re not paying your fair share, the amount you agreed to, then it’s your *** and don’t look to us to bail you out.
 
look I wish he were a bit more eloquent, but it is more an indictment of the media and average American that they can't grasp what he says. The media lies and edits and the average citizen just goes with it no matter how clear his original statement may have been.
 
See this is the problem I have had with Trump since the beginning.

For all the millions the guy has, he is the absolute worst person I have ever seen at sticking his foot in his mouth.

I thought when he won in 16 he would figure it out and the people around him would help him realize, he has to think before he speaks.

But it never happened.

To win elections...especially this one...he needs to be very, very clear to "average Americans"....and not give easy fodder to the media...

Trump does tend to say dumb ****, even when people around him try to stop him.

I think more average Americans understand him than the so called elites do. The very language that confuses the elite libs is the kind I language the average Joe uses him or her self. That’s what has endeared him to many, he appeals to the old Democratic base they abandoned.

What is in question is him saying he would encourage "them" (Russia) to do whatever they want. Thats what triggered the lefties...
I interpreted "them" to be the countries not paying. Pay or not pay.. Do whatever they want.

If you watched that video, the news guy point blank stated the Trump encourages Russia to invade other countries. Putz.

As of yet no clarification from Trump or a Trump "interpreter" on the comment.
Going back in Feb 2022 Trump did say that Putin's decision to invade Ukraine was "savvy and genius". What an idiot.

So yeah, he most likely did mean what everyone thought he meant. I'll say it again. What an idiot.

But I'd still vote for him.
 
I don't jump to conclusions when Trump says anything that appears to be outrageous or head scratching,

Trump never said to inject or drink disinfectants, yet the media and idiot liberals took it that way.

When Trump said that there were "fine people on both sides" he was not referring to the Charlottsville riots between white supremacists and antifa....he was referring to those protesters at the Robert E Lee statue... for and against tearing it down.

Biden continued to take advantage of those lies in his campaign.

I understood he meant Russia, I also understood he was just making a point in a brash way. It is what he does. It is a simple and often effective negotiating tactic. People take everything so literally. Follow through on your agreed terms or stop getting the services and making a point about the consequences.
