Now I'm no journalist and I know this won't come off nearly as good as the others that go to camp.
Harrison was not allowed to practice again, so he was out there in his sweat suit, he did some foot work on and off during practice, his sweat suit was soaked by practices end. No sign of Cam, didn't even see him on the sideline anywhere, AB's wife/gf had a baby so he wasn't there. Connor was there, he did light stuff and non contact drills, there was no along on his shoulder. Tuitt and Williams were full participants, as was juju. Mitchell and Shazier did not practice. Shazier was doing some jogging and was very vocal during OvsD drills. Landry did not practice either.
Defense owned the offense in the goal line drill. The starters ran 4 plays, all passes, two were caught, but the dbs made great plays and just pushed them out if bounds before they came down with the ball, the other two plays there was absolutely no one open. The second string scored one 1 of their 3 attempts, a pass to Grimble. Of the 7 O attempts all were passes, I'm guessing this was planned and helped the D out.
Later they ran O vs D, this time it was all runs, and Watt owned that drill he made 3 straight tackles, the O ran at Dupree who did a good job of setting the edge and Watt came from the opposite side and cleaned up, delivered a big hit on the second play.
Vince Williams while only a practice, looks pretty damn good, at least in run defense and coverage on Davis and Touissant, he blew up Davis on a passing route, then later on a running play crushed another RB (couldn't tell who). I still don't want him out there vs 4wr sets, but he is physical and looks pretty quick.
Burns looks like the real deal, every drill the dbs did he looked the best. The only time he got beat was on a long ball from Ben to DHB, other than that he was all over whoever he covered. They did a drill where it was similar to a Oklahoma drill, a db vs a wr blocking and a second wr was running the ball, Burns at least twice totally shed his blocker made the tackle, he was easily the best db in that drill, although it was kind of far away so I couldn't totally tell what happened on every match up.
The WR's position is going to be a battle, AB and Bryant are definites, but Hunter is damn good, tall, quick in his breaks and made a great catch over one of the DBs that got a big ovation from the crowd and you could hear Tomlin yelling way to make a play 11. It's going to be hard to keep him off the roster. Eli Rogers seems even quicker than last year, didn't see him drop a ball. Hamilton dropped a back shoulder ball in the end zone of course.
JuJu very tough, good hands, in the wr vs db drill I mentioned above, he totally pancaked Sensabaugh. Stevie Johnson welcomed him to NFL with a big hit in the O vs D drill, to his credit he jumped right back up. All the WR's looked very good in the passing/receiving drills rarely did any of them drop a pass.
The final O vs D drill was pass or run, and Ben led them down the field, on the long ball to DHB, catch by Hunter, and a couple runs.
Dobbs and Houston were very inaccurate, even in the passing drills without the defense, the throws to the sideline were mostly out of bounds, or behind the WR's, Dobbs did make a couple decent throws on the run.
Ward was there, not sure if he's been there all training camp, but he was really working with Juju after plays and drills and was helping with the WR's all day.
Almost upset of the day, Pouncey almost beat Ben in the cross bar game.
