Top Steelers per position, the Interior Defensive Lineman.

Your top 5 DT's or NT's since the AFL-NFL Merger in 1970.

Yes--we know Ernie Stautner was a beast in his day, and his number 70 hasn't been reissued for decades, but few saw him play him play in his prime years in the 1950's.

My picks:

1 ) Greene
2 ) Hampton
3 ) Holmes
4 ) Steed
5 ) G. Williams

You could argue Gary Dunn or Kimo Von Olfen.

It's really hard to compare and contrast DT's from 4-3 and 3-4. Maybe they should be in separate categories.

Hampton and Steed were our best NT's ever.

Mean Joe was greatest Steelers' 4-3 DT ever.

AAron Smith was the BEST yet most underated 3-4 tackle in steeler history.
List to follow soon

Salute the nation

1: Hampton. He was the wall who required a triple team in his prime. He is the reason the 3-4 was dominant
2: Steed. Memory is spotty with him. I remember him being a stud. But that whole defense was badass
3: Mean Joe. Legend
