Well, with the season inching closer, it is time to look ahead and see how the Pittsburgh Steelers will score for all of Steeler Nation’s fantasy teams. It is definitely still early to really narrow down on these stats and points since training camp hasn’t even opened up yet, but the Steelers skill positions seem to be pretty set.

Below are the Steelers offensive skill players, their 2020 fantasy points, and my 2021 fantasy projections for them. All the points are based on a 0.5 point per reception scoring system.

Quarterbacks

Ben Roethlisberger

2020 Fantasy Stats: 3,803 passing yards. 33 passing TDs. 10 INTs. 11 rushing yards. 0 rushing TDs. – 266.1 Points

2021 Projected Fantasy Stats: 4,300 passing yards. 30 passing TDs. 10 INTs. 32 rushing yards. 1 rushing TD. – 281.2 Points

New offensive coordinator, all new offensive line, still potent weapons. I think Ben increases his yards per attempt by at least one whole yard under Matt Canada, which will help him rack up more yards.

Running Backs

Najee Harris

2020 Fantasy Stats: 0 Fantasy Points

2021 Projected Fantasy Stats: 260 carries. 1,050 rushing yards. 48 receptions. 350 receiving yards. 10 total TDs. – 232 Points

Benny Snell

2020 Fantasy Stats: 111 carries. 368 rushing yards. 10 receptions. 61 receiving yards. 4 total TDs. – 69.9 Points

2021 Projected Fantasy Stats: 85 carries. 365 rushing yards. 7 receptions. 45 receiving yards. 2 total TDs. – 56.5 Points

Anthony McFarland

2020 Fantasy Stats: 33 carries. 113 rushing yards. 6 receptions. 54 receiving yards. 0 total TDs. – 19.7 Points

2021 Projected Fantasy Stats: 65 carries. 350 rushing yards. 11 receptions. 90 receiving yards. 2 total TDs. – 61.5 Points

There is no debate that this is now the Najee Harris show. But I think Snell and McFarland will still get a couple touches a game, with the later breaking a couple big ones.

Tight Ends

Eric Ebron

2020 Fantasy Stats: 56 receptions. 558 receiving yards. 5 receiving TDs. – 113.8 Points

2021 Projected Fantasy Stats: 48 receptions. 530 receiving yards. 5 receiving TDs. – 107 Points

Pat Freiermuth

2020 Fantasy Stats: 0 Fantasy Points

2021 Projected Fantasy Stats: 10 receptions. 78 receiving yards. 0 receiving TDs. – 12.8 Points

Like last year, this will likely be a one man show in terms of fantasy stats.

Wide Receivers

JuJu Smith-Schuster

2020 Fantasy Stats: 97 receptions. 831 receiving yards. 9 receiving TDs. – 185.6 Points

2021 Projected Fantasy Stats: 85 receptions. 1,045 receiving yards. 7 receiving TDs. – 189 Points

Diontae Johnson

2020 Fantasy Stats: 88 receptions. 923 receiving yards. 7 receiving TDs. – 177.8 Points

2021 Projected Fantasy Stats: 87 receptions. 1,100 receiving yards. 6 receiving TDs. – 189.5 Points

Chase Claypool

2020 Fantasy Stats: 62 receptions. 873 receiving yards. 9 receiving TDs. – 183.9 Points

2021 Projected Fantasy Stats: 68 receptions. 890 receiving yards. 6 receiving TDs. 35 rushing yards. 1 rushing TD. – 168.5 Points

James Washington

2020 Fantasy Stats: 30 receptions. 392 receiving yards. 5 receiving TDs. – 84.2 Points

2021 Projected Fantasy Stats: 26 receptions. 380 receiving yards. 3 receiving TDs. – 69 Points

This is the toughest position group to predict. There are three bonified starters in fantasy and one stash in case of injuries. I think multiple receivers will top the 1,000 yard mark this year, but it is definitely up for debate which ones will do so.

I would bump D Johnson and C Claypool to 10 TDs. I'd also give the new TE 5 TDs as well as he will equal near Ebron in production especialy hence Ebron starts droping them.

Hard to pick FF points as they don't mean crap

Salute the nation

I think Freiermuth does better than that as well. He may not get a lot of catches unless Ebron gets hurt but I can still see 20+ catches and he will be a big target in the endzone. He doesn't drop passes (knock on wood). I can see him getting 5 TD's this year. ****, I'd put him, Ebron, Claypool, Harris, and JuJu on the field in the red zone and let teams try to defend that. Ain't happening if the OL gives Ben just a little bit of time. Throw it high and let them go get it.
