This is going to be the game that we will see the heart of this kid. Browns will be super fired up and the stadium will be loud. D will obviously need to continue to play great but I see this as the game that we will see what Mason is made of from a confidence and pressure-handling situation.

Never easy up there on the Lake shore...
Will be interesting to see how Steelers nation represents

It's funny, not too long ago if a brand new QB, making his first few starts in his career, was taking care of the football and not losing winnable games, we would be pleased. Nowadays, if said QB isn't slinging the ball all over the field, he doesn't have "It".

He will be fine.

The browns have a top heavy but good secondary... they blow vs the run... our oline better man up and shove this ball down their throats.... in a best case we don’t need Rudolph to do much...

This is big for him though.. going against the top pick of his draft class... you have to think he wants to show that he is better than mayfield...

I think today is on Conner: We need the run to gash that D. That does 2 things:
- Keep control of the clock forcing Mayfield on mayday mode and ...
- takes the ball away from Chubb, who is their best playmaker right now.

Their run D sucks big time, we have to take advantage of that if we want to win.

Finally having good rythm with the run will open up space from the safeties trying to stop it, helping Mason get some long passes and also opens up the play action to put the nail in the coffin.

It is extra motivation for Mason playing against his college rival Mayfield. I don't about college level his team, but now he has good team support in the form of great Defense.

I feel it is Mason Rudolph game.

Its really the run defense. If it isn't stout Mayfield will have a field day with easy one on one reads. Chubbs gashed the Ravens for the upset win. The same formula can be applied tonight. Mason and the WR's need to be clicking, but I'm most concerned with the Steelers run defense.

The Steelers D is mostly predicated on turnovers and sacks stopping drives... they are middle of the pack preventing yards and points, but improving

Mayfield is the qb who forces the ball into coverage more than anyone else in the nfl... something crazy like almost 7% of the time he thrown into multiple coverage... he also takes a good amount of sacks.. if they can manage to contain their run game and get a lead, mayfield will self destruct

Maybe Mason still mad and wants revenge for that 62-52 loss to Baker in college

Conner is back in the lineup. We're going to run the ball and if they stack the box we will punt and Minkah will score TDs on defense.

How dare you talk about one of coach's love interest like that.

Where the hell is he? He has definately been lite on his posting as of late................

Salute the nation

Tonight It's on our offensive line to give Mason protection long enough to get to a second or 3rd read
Tonight It's on our offensive line to open up holes for our running backs to pick up yardage on 1st and 2nd downs to avoid any 3rd and long situations
This week was on our coaching staff to work in a game plan that will give Mason a chance to win the game.

Our offense sure as hell better score more than 10 points this game. I'm shocked that 10 offensive pts got us the win in LA.

Run game and run D tonight.

Gurley averaged 6 ypc, but the only gave him the ball 12 times, Mack averaged 4.5 ypc. If Cleveland is smart they run Chubb and Hunt alot, to limit Mayfield to having to face our pressure and limit him from turning the ball over.

Conner usually puts up good numbers vs cleveland.

You can bet he will be in the game day thread ******** on Mason like last Sunday against the rams. I mean he blamed him even when series stalled due to dropped passes. How many were? 5 drops ? At least 3 of them where for 1st down

Well, you were right. Tonight was on Mason. And he blew it. Yes, he was missing his three biggest offensive threats (such as they are) and his Oline didn't help him at all but he pure and simple sucked. I had hopes for him until tonight. I was hoping for more progression and positive movement. Didn't happen. At halftime I wanted Duck in there.
