I agree. We should have had Williams on the field. Taking a guy who hasn't played in 9 months and giving him the workload seems pretty dumb. So does running up the middle of the defenses strength a week after a 2014 4-12 team rushed outside for over 200 yards. Williams has shown he can re-direct outside but he wasn't on the field. The guy with the KNEE injury to end the season was the one who needed to prove he could get outside?

I understand getting Bell some playing time but to just switch to being the starter after ZERO playing time in 9 months seems odd.

Bell played just as much in the preseason as Williams. If Bell wasn't suspended do you think Bell shouldn't of been given a heavy work load cause he didn't play during the offseason??

I liken it to having a car sit in the driveway after a major repair. Maybe you've driven it a few times around town...THEN decide to take it on a cross country run. Doesn't make sense. Like I said, Williams proved he can take the ball outside when a designed inside run isn't there. Why not use them both? Our OL is good for 1 of 5 inside runs where the defender isn't already in the backfield...it's not like THEY are good. Bell and Williams have been more about making something outa nothing. Williams was the last to prove it on the field.

I think Williams should have been used more with the hot hand. Moving forward at least give him some touches. He is productive....

I'm not satisfied with that non-answer about Boykin. If he's in the doghouse or whatever, just say he's behind the other guys. All this vagueness is frustrating because it's not as if our other corners are world beaters

I'm sure they're trying to keep Boykin's snap count low so they don't have to give up a 4th instead of a 5th. As long as they don't feel Boykin's a need to start then they're just going to keep him in situational plays. Then they can just resign him after the year and play him full time for that 5th.

That's just dumb if that is the case. If you are willing to give up a draft pick to acquire talent to help your team, play them.

Williams pushes. When he hits a wall, he pushes the wall for an extra yard or two. As much as I like Bell, (and I do!) He can't do that.
