Tomlin Press Conference in Shorthand

In two months we won't give a **** how clean or dirty this past win was, just that it was a win.

Glad we came out of it relatively healthy. Is Mitchell ready to go if Wilcox can't? What's his status?

Again, when you look around the league, there was a lot of ugly football. Not sure if that's because of how preseason is set up now or maybe the game just feels so choppy from stoppages that teams can't get in rhythm, who knows. I watched a few other games and fundamentals and smart execution looked bad all over the place.

If we can stay reasonably healthy, spread out the injuries to a game here, a game there and just try to improve a little on the smarts/execution week-to-week, we're in good shape this year. KC and OAK still don't scare me all that much. The only team we can't beat is still up in New England and we are now a game up on them for playing at home in the playoffs.

Good to hear that other games were sloppy execution, too. You could see Ben was off early in the game, but, mostly cleaned it up.

RBs seemed to be screwed by poor blocking.

I don't remember if AB looked rusty at first because he seemed to be on and ready to go and the play's he did make erased any bad memories. The big run after the tip ball, the catch wbile the defender was, literally, hanging on him (no call, I do think think) and that big one that was reviewed.

I'm optimistic, as always, that most will be cleaned up correctly.

Oh yes, you could see several of the player get better as the game progressed. Coach Tomlin knows what he is talking about most of the time. His tomlinisms are what makes him appear a little Mean Joe Bradshaw like intellegent. I feel they will keep improving week by week and start looking for win 12 near week 14. The CHEATRIOTS have as much to overcome as allegedly what we have to overcome. It's these next two weeks of experience and "rust" busting play that has to happen to be successful. I would venture to say our penalty count will be 1/3 less this coming week and that will help a lot. GO STEELERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Salute the nation

Wilcox is in concussion protocol. He has to get cleared to practice, then have a complete practice symptom free, and be fine the next day as well to clear protocol.
