Todd Haley

Haley, I don't see leaving he has his best chance to win another ring as the OC of the Steelers, than as a head coach of a team like Oakland or somewhere else.

Yep, poor playcalling and slow developing plays.

So then what do you make of the red zone struggles under Whisenhunt when Cowher was head coach ? Then under Tomlin with Arians ? Three OCs and still having redzone issues you cant put all of this on the OCs.
Here is what I believe is the issue...BEN. Hes the constant integer under all three OCs. Have you notice his style ? The method to his game and why hes Big Play Ben. Those same intangibles that make him a dangerous quarterback between the twenties makes him rather pedestrian when the field area shrinks. His game success has been predicated on time (buying extra) and real estate (for the receivers). As the field shrinks so does the time needed to survey. In the past we've seen him take sacks in the red zone...not so much recently but its happened. If Ben was a timing-oriented thrower we would see much better TD-FG ratios in the redzone.

Haley after dealing with the "yinzer" wrath, and other turmoil related to having a hot adventurous wifey, has this offense in a position to the best in the league...

Tombert also has done a outstanding job of securing top notch talent, that fits perfectly for the offense Haley likes to run...

Definitely a good news story for the home team...

Keep up the good work on the field... and at home Todd.. ;)

Haley's play calling was not good today. I saw few adjustments to slow down the pass rush and some iffy calls in the red zone. Once again clock management was an issue at the end of the first half.

The offense didn't look like the best in the league today even before Ben got hurt.

In the beginning it did...until we hit the RZ.

The only thing that needs changed is running any sort of play action. Especially on goal to go. This split wide **** doesn't freeze anyone, and we're not benefitting from freezing the center of the defenders if we're not running play action. Watch the pats. 2nd and goal is when they are most likely to run play action. Why? Because it ******* works!

Why they didn't stay 5 wide the entire time Ben was in is beyond me.
They couldn't stop it. And why do they keep throwing sideways in the red zone? Wtf?
Throw the ball forward.

The strength of the rams is the d-line. Spreading them out and throwing short passes was killing them.
154 yards in the first quarter. They were getting gassed and should have been blown out early.
Running and bunching up the line of scrimmage plays right into the strength of their team.

Yep, making Ben hold the ball and sit in the pocket played right into the Rams hands, stupid on Tomlin and Haley's parts, just another day at the office for the demented duo.

I swear I was about to break all the furniture in my living room.

I am so tired of seeing piss poor coaching on this team. It's pathetic.

It's not fair to the players. The weapons are there. The plan should have been short & fast.

They let rams off the hook.
By the way what was with that 2 min drill before the half? Didn't they have 3 timeouts?

time to earn the money, make a gameplan for Vick that is based on Bell and Williams, the WRs must be at their best to get open for the new QB

Looking forward I think there are some things we can implement for Vick that can get us by. Read option type handoffs to Bell and Williams. Play action off that. Vick doesn't have to run 30 40 yds anymore. Just enough to keep defenses guessing. Just enough to hold linebackers and safeties and get behind them for big plays. If Dalton can do it so can Vick. Also a power run game and play action off of that. Short week the Ravens are going to be scrambling and now have no idea what to prepare for.

Weren't they sacked??

Yup, we got sacked, and we started bleeding clock, so we didn't leave the Rams with time to score before the half. Clock management works both ways, and it was played defensively in this instance.

Haley couldn't see there was a protection problem today and neither did cool shades. **** both of them

Looks like the protection problem was Beachum and Wallace. Should we have benched them? Perhaps run the ball more? Cause we did that too. Other then shoot Beachum and Wallace like wounded horses what do you suggest?
