If the Steelers have a prolific offense like we assume they are going to.. does he get a head coaching job next year?

I say this only half jokingly ... If things get as messy as I think they will in Cleveland, they'll probably be calling if no one else does.

The real question is though, is the offense clicking because of Haley or because Ben has been calling the majority of his own plays?

I'm pretty sure Ben wasn't the one who called the WR screen reverse pass in the Pats game.

Haley already had his chance, I don't know if he is seen as a possible HC anymore with the bad attitude rep he has around the league

I dunno, they let Trestman become a HC and he was viewed as way more of a head case than Haley.

I really don't see it. He is still known as a difficult person to work with/for. He doesn't have the winning record as a HC that would excuse his personality. He's proven that he can be an effective OC with an elite QB who is still in his prime with a superior passing and running attack. If he didn't change the pace at which Ben gets rid of the ball I don't think most would consider his impacts successful Come on.. The Bubble Screen? Really?

I just don't think he can he do what he has done in, say Miami or Jacksonville. I don't think so. Not with Tannehill or Bortles, Pittsburgh is a unique situation for him. He has an elite Super Bowl winning QB, a top tier receiver, and a top tier running attack. Those things won't translate over to other teams and I think most owners and GMs will recognize that. However, if Snoop Dogg is in the front office I think he might have a chance...LOL!

EDIT: Just checked HC winning percentages at Coaches Hot Seat.com and Big Bad Billy Belicheat has a career HC winning percentage of .666. The man is truly the DEVIL!

Some people are better suited to be the #2 guy. Some realize it like Dick LeBeau. Some don't realize it like Rex Ryan. I am hopeful that the lovely Mrs. Haley's husband knows that he is probably better off as OC of the Steelers and his best chance of accumulating SB rings is to stay right here.

I'd say only if he has a proven qb at the helm. But I don't think he is HC material.

I think he could be lured away for say, the right money / control. Is he stupid enough to consider it, yes. BUT is he dumb enough to TAKE it????????? We may find out.

NEED picture of Mrs.Haley

No pic but I've got the family saying grace.

Not saying he wasn't but I've never heard that Tressman was anything but a really good coach that worked well with QB. How is he a head case? Never heard that before.

If I were Pettiine I would get out of there ASAP. I really like his intensity as a coach. He reminds me of a young Bill Cowher. But with those yum yum owners.

Haley struggled a bit before the Steelers drafted / developed Bell, Wheaton, and Bryant.

With the talent we have and Ben at his best, I think any OC would look great. Ben doesn't get credit but his pre and post snap reads read are excellent complements to his arm strength, timing and accuracy.

Haley has failed before as a head coach. I do not think he will get another chance to be one.

TIming ? Reads ? As in reading a defense ? Since when ? Theres no timing with Ben...there never has been. Its a five step drop or shot gun, progression, move to buy two seconds and the Chinese fire drill ensues....to his credit, defenses have trouble adapting because dbs cant cover our WR that long...aaaaand, his he flushes or rolls to the right its gonna be a big play....but he aint readin **** and he doesn't need timing...he just needs TIME.

Speculation: I think he is happy where he is. Especially in PIttsburgh and with the Steelers. I think he rides this train till either it all goes south and he is canned,,, or he becomes the next Norv Turner.

I think he had a belly full of that HC position. It didn't suit him.

So did he struggle or did he fail??? I'm confused.

Haley would be nuts to leave anytime soon. He's back home with a top 5 offense and ridiculous talent all over the offense in its prime. With that being said he's a great coordinator who many were ******** on when he got hired. People still try to slight the man by saying, oh Ben calls his own plays, and who couldn't win with all this talent. GTFOH. Can't have it both ways. People bitched about Roethlisberger for years for his reckless style AND BA for his enabling offense. Haley has done a great thing here. Give him credit.

We have the best RB and WR in the league, a top 5 QB in his prime and great complimentary players in Wheaton , Bryant and Heath, any OC would thrive here and many more would have us scoring more points, especially in the red zone.

You think our OC is the cause of our red zone deficiencies ?

I can agree with that. Haley did put in place the aspect of Ben to get rid of the ball quicker. This has helped Ben greatly. The only real issue I have with Haley is I believe he should let Ben go no huddle and call his own plays a lot more. I mean A LOT more. Do what works and Ben calling his own plays WORKS.

Todd Haley was brought in to run the football and "protect" Ben.
Now Ben is throwing for 400-500yds a game.
Yeah Haley, Go Haley.

I think the league, going to "AREANA football rules" has a little to do with the high yards and high scoring. NOT taking anything away from Mr. Haley, just saying.........
