I'll do a Coach and start a thread on our rookie 1st rounder. How do you feel about him after his first game in the NFL? I loved his motor and playmaking capabilities, on that Int I was watching him closely pre-snap as he was showing rush and jumped back with Kizer's snap cadence, dropped to the flat and made that tiger jump, not happy with that he stood up and started running! this kid is amazing.

Oh and that penalt on him was bullshit, he barely touched kizer on the ground

Great game, saw some nice pass rush moves and like you said, loved his motor. He has some hops too with that INT.

Very impressive debut. He had a couple of good pressures on Kizer in addition to the two sacks. Was effective against the run and more importantly, at no point did he look outmatched physically or lost on the field.

yeah, his strength against OLinemen in the NFL was a worry when drafted. How about Joe Thomas as measurement?

The Chick played well as a fill in. TJ was very good.

Also,,,I'm really grateful he's on our team. There's a lot of potential in this kid.

Never really beat his guy. Just a steady motor. Will surpass Jarvis Jones entire career in his first 8 games.

He will continue to make plays on hustle.

But he did have some solid 3rd down pressures. So I can't really say he never beat his guy.

He beat Thomas on a couple occasions, didn't result in a sack but good pressure. Harrison bull rushed Thomas almost into Kizer the only play I noticed him on.

it was a great start. as all said it is his motor that is the difference. you cant coach that

He's everything we hoped Jarvis was going to be when he got drafted. Glad he's a Steeler and can't wait to see how he progresses. Damn fine debut.

Watt proved he is a top run defender, a determined pass rusher, and a very smart football player with the athletic ability, strength, and size to capitalize on his high football IQ/instincts.

Only one game, but has a Steeler rookie ever impress this much in his debut? You might have to go back to Louis Lipps.

I think his head is too big or too small. I'm not sure which.

His hands are very big, 11" to be exact, the largest at the combine. :)

Yes, I think a couple of his most impressive plays were pressures that didn't result in a sack.

I read a stat yesterday, that it was the first time a defender had 2 sacks AND an interception in a debut.
