from http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/redskins-tagging-kirk-cousins-trade/story?id=52827299
If Washington decided to pull the franchise tag to get Cousins' contract off its salary cap, it would lose the right to recoup a 2019 compensatory draft pick that it would get if Cousins were able to leave right away as a free agent. So tagging Cousins would undoubtedly carry risk.
just saw fa opens up on the 14th normally it’s the 10th hopefully his wanna be thug *** is cut I would settle for tre Boston but vaccaro if he hits the marketer should pounce on him. Much better runners in the div sobif we stack the box we need to make sure that 8thguy helps
Just let Bell go at this time. Get a 3rd next year. Pull the tag and say good bye.
Well, that guarantees Bell will be here for the 2018 season whether he holds out for 10 games or not. ...or whatever he decides to do.
He would be worth kicking the tires on. He was never used properly and would look good in black and gold

If Bell holds out, are we in the salary cap hole for his entire season salary or do we get a pro-rated amount back for each game he misses? I realize we don't have to pay him for games he doesn't play but does his entire salary still count against the salary cap? For example, lets round his annual to $14 million and he holds out 10 games. Is his cap hit for 2018 only 6/16 of $14 million? If we get no compensation if we remove the cap then why did we even use it? If we pay him $14 million for this season we have basically given up on the season.
