This article nails it "Where was Bell"

For a minute I was thinking it was the rule changes with practices, and hitting, etc. but Baltimore still finds a way to remain physical.

They built their team over the years to compete with the Steelers. Tough, physical, run & play defense.

We went in a different direction and built a offense around Ben that is looking to throw the ball & score a lot of points.

I know they want balance too but they seem to have gotten a little finesse.

Levian brings them some toughness and I will say the defense has been looking a lot more physical this year so far. More than I anticipated anyway.

LeVeon...how are STEELER FANS miss spelling his name??

That's funny because when the rivalry was at it's most brutal height the Steelers won. IMO the series has not turned on who was the most physical but who QB has played the best.

The STEELERS have deffinately softened as to physical play. BUT, so have the gayvens. Neither team is as physical as in the past. I think rules changes has done away with a lot of the phyciality of the sport. Gladiators as once was, is no more......

Salute the nation

I was thinking where was williams as well...I remember him having one carry and he got like 6-7 yards. I think each back should have gotten like 15 touches...

The Steelers rushed the ball 33 times. Only 33 times with the best RB in the league and your franchise QB on the bench. That is mind boggling right there.

Of the 33 rushing attempts, here is a breakdown of who did what:

DeAngelo Williams: 2 rushes. 6% of the carries.
Vick: 9 rushes. 27.3% of the carries.
Bell: 22 rushes. 66.6% of the caries.

Fumble prone Vick got 27.3% of the rushing attempts.

Bell AND DeAngelo BOTH should have been used much more.

I knew Tomlin would screw this up with Williams and Bell. He's going to run the wheels off of Bell until he burns this kid out at a young age rather than utilize both these backs. I would have had double set backfields where you could option to pass to Bell or run Williams. TOmlin does not know what to do with the bevy of talent on this team, period. He's clueless.

Williams should see the field more. It seems he is capable of taking one to the house every time he touches the ball. Save Bell the load

All of these....mind boggling misuse of resources, imo. Read in another thread where someone said it could end up with D Will copping the Blountitude.

Maybe in past years they played more physical at times than we did.
This loss had nothing to do with that. FG kicking and play calling was how it was lost.
We hit just as hard as they did, neither team could stop the run for the most part, the physicality seemed about equal to me.

Agreed, in fact two ravens players, campanaro an smith, ended up injured. The D was as physicall as theirs

My only fault with Tomlin is not going for the 50yd kick in OT. You play to win the game. He went on 4th downs, because a first down would have iced the game!

I can understand his reasoning at the end thinking picking up 1yd has a higher percentage than that ****** kicker kicking 50, but one of those plays can win the game. I play to win.
