First Malik Jackson and Brock Osweiller get the big deals now Olivier Vernon gets 52.5 mil guaranteed????? He gets more than JJ Watt????

Seems stupid to me... Really over reaching. Osweiler has a better chance getting obrien fired than getting the Texans to the sb.

Glad you asked:

Olivier Vernon gets $85M over 5 years — WOW — with $52.5M in guarantees.

that's 17M/Y with 10M guaranteed EVERY year

Vernon is a special talent, but he has yet to really fully play up to it.

I give the Giants credit, in that they're taking risks in an attempt to get the most of what's left of their aging franchise QB's career.

The Rooney's should take some notes.

do you think that was a good signing?

If one's trying to get the most out of what is left of their championship-caliber QB, I think it was a good gamble.

Signing? That's subject to opinion.

Let the fools overspend. We will stay the course and hope our draft picks do what we need them to do.

The focus on the future has validity, but barring some miraculous mid to late round QB selection, the legit championship aspirations of the Steelers end once Ben retires.

The Patriots added Darelle Revis and got their first title in a decade.

Sign Eric Berry. **** the franchise tag. He and Mitchell would be a great complement to what the Steelers have going on up front with Heyward, Tuitt and hopefully Dupree, and not to mention that offense the Steelers should have,

Agree about what happens once Ben retires. Its a small window now.

The *Pats got their first title because someone decided having Russell Wilson pass instead of handing off to Marshawn Lynch on the 1 yard line.

We need a serious OLB to put pressure on QBs where one Jarvis Jones takes up space. I think that one addition helps tremendously. Look at what happened for Denver with bookend OLBs. Dupree is going to be much improved this season and shouldn't hit the rookie wall.

Can't forget cheating...always cheating

When you have $50m+ in cap space, you can afford to take a chance and overspend.

I was thinking the same thing, this is just getting stupid. They're giving average players asinine money.

Can you imagine what Antonio is thinking right now?

I can tell you when the Steelers re-sign him, half of this board is gonna go nuts saying that he is getting overpaid.
