I don’t know about Vance Mcdonald.
Some guys just cannot stay healthy which was his issue with the Niners plus they say he dropped too many balls. Of course we haven’t had much of a sampling size here to make that determination.

It was Monday before the first game last year, and will be the same this year.

The one benefit we have of Bell reporting late: The Steelers get 3 extra days with a player they don't have to cut, to give them a better chance of having a coveted player clear waivers and land on the practice squad.

The rest of the teams will have their rosters finalized by Sat or Sun grabbing players off of waivers.

I’m not so sure and have had this feeling for some time that he won’t report next week. Just like Khalil Mack has said that he will forfeit games at almost 900k per game to prove a point then why wouldn’t Bell?
He may try and force their hand by missing games in hopes of them rescinding the tag. You know he did say earlier in the year he may hold out until game 10 when he had to report to qualify this as a season for him. He’d still make close to 7 million and save about 250 touches. Don’t be surprised.

SAVE 250 touches...........are you kidding me?? AT that point you suspend him for conduct detrimental to the team and then he gets to play another year for the STEELERS. SUICIDE if he holds out till week 10. Just saying there is more than one outcome to this little story. I hear what you are saying but still think he shows week one, game elgible. He is to greedy to lose 900K per as you may Remeber his negotiations have always been about the money $$$$$$$$.

NO outright cut as we would lose everything in terms of compensation pick. Take a number Mr. Bell because others can run/catch the rock.

Now with that being said, I hope the hell you’re correct and he shows next week but this guy is all over the board and you never know with him. I hope you’re right though because unfortunately we do need him.

I don't think our drop off with out him will be as big as people think. He only averaged 3.9ypc (I think) and 7.1 receiving so those aren't worldly record beaters. It's just that he had so many touches that got him his totals. The next closes "touches" player I believe was 42 back of him which is a full game + and BELL missed the last game. Just saying

Big difference steelhurt, Mack is under contract now.

Until Bell signs the tag, he isn’t.

Every game he misses is approx 900k. So to sit out until week 10 would cost him 9 mil. Plus, the Steelers could suspend him for conduct detrimental to the team, thus disallowing him to have 2018 as an accrued season. Not sure about the tag process after that though.

One thing for sure, Bell isn’t losing 9 mil. It lessens his value if he doesn’t perform big this year.

I'm pretty sure the tag is guaranteed as long as he plays an accrued season (6 games).
 
oh, if Bell shows up in Week 10 and I'm Mike Tomlin, I make sure Bell gets his 250 touches, be it offense or special teams.
