At 6-5, the Rats are chasing us. The good news is 3 of their final 5 games are on the road, and rookie Lamar Litrell is now their starting quarterback.

Road games at Kansas City and Los Angeles will be tough. I see 3-2 at best for these Rats. 2-3 more than likely, meaning they finish at 8-8

An 8-8 finish by the Rats means we lock up a division win with one more win, but the Steelers will do better than that. I see the Steelers ending up 10-5-1 or 11-4-1. Anything below that is a collapse.

Earning a bye week for the playoffs, however, will be difficult, thanks to losing to a sub .500 team and tieing with another.

To earn a bye week in the playoffs the Steelers must defeat New England during the regular season and match or exceed their record.

I get that the bye week is the most desirable outcome, but I’m not even sure that’s something this team should be shooting for. They’re always rusty with time off

No bye for the Steelers.

They can make their own bye, by ensuring playoff spot before Cinci game, then rest starters before playoffs, give Dobbs a game.

i'm ok with not having a bye week.

I know that possibly means losing a home playoff game, but this team (Ben) doesn't like too much time off.

The bye is basically not an option at this point. Now it becomes the No. 3 or 4 seed. Do we want to go to KC or NE for the divisional round?

Yeah, we might not want to get that bye. Unless they still practice during the bye week but that never seems to happen.

Byes are important for player health. I'd take a bye any day to get players healthy late in the season, over worrying about rust.

I would just up the reps for the O during that week. Compared to what their norm is...

Either way it won't matter. I love the Steelers but they are entirely too inconsistent to beat either of these teams, particularly in the playoffs. Sure, they COULD win. I could win the state lottery too. But I'd have to bet money on it. How much money you want to lose?

I give it 50/50. Enough talent there but can they bring it together when it matters most? The playoffs.

I mean it is correctable the errors. So it depends on if they will correct them....

You always want the bye week. You are one game closer to the super bowl and play a lower seed. Plus you are at home for the first playoff game and possibly second as the number two seed.

We have to avoid a one and done first.

I’d rather play New England. Kansas City is too explosive for our ILB’s and DB’s

Rats aren't catching us for the division. The tie actually helps us to where if we had the same amount of wins we have a higher win percentage.

I look at it the other side of the tie coin. It’s killing our chances for a bye week in the playoffs.

ultimately just get into the tournament. Ideally there is a scenario where NE knocks off KC and then we play NE in Afc title game.
