The moves the team should strongly consider:

You are witnessing first hand the “developement” of the two younger QBs.

The process for any position is variable to the position and the player.

Even the “Professional” player can be developed to a better degree, but takes way less than the newer player.

Back to the catching comments of some. You are born with physical traits, but it takes “Developement” of the mental (and physical to a degree), to be better and better. Catching is about 80% mental where even a 2% mental error can erase all the physical born atributes of an athlete.

Antonio Brown continued training in catching the ball (endless use of the Juggs machine) to hone / develop his skills to a better level. He wasn’t just born into great catching, he trained very hard to be a great catcher and did the training at his professional level.

You mean by giving them playing time in the preseason?
Didn’t Tomlin do the same thing?

Theres got to be more to it than that ….if we are all raving at how good MM is at developing QB’s, and how Mike Tomlin was terrible at it.

I guess it’s what you mean by developing.
I took to mean shaping raw talent.

Raw talent means a natural, unrefined ability to do something well before receiving formal training or practice. [1, 2, 3]

After 8+ years of playing organized football they should have fully developed skills. Developed enough to be called a professional.
They don’t have Juggs machines in college?

The mental aspect occurs at all levels.
A player has already experienced the mental aspect and should be mature enough as a professional to know how to deal with it.

I find it hard to believe that John Stallworth and Lynn Swann had to be developed.
They were born with the ability as was AB.

Assistant pro coaches go from college to pros all the time. What could they possibly bring with them other than what they teach in college?

Technique, awareness, footwork, hand placement, first step, pass rush moves, blocking, accuracy and countless other aspects are in constant development through a player’s career.

The good coaches do teach these things on a daily basis and develop players, the lazy coaches simply wait for finished products and stay mediocre

The good players become great by learning these things and constantly refining them from learning and development under good coaching

Drew Allar & Howard went through McCarthy’s QB school, he has been giving both Drew and Howard personal one on one time, coaching them up…… !!!

Any athlete can improve on thier game regardless of how they were born. Any type of coaching that makes you better is considered coaching up.

AB continuously used the Juggs to “get better”. Coaches assisted him in form and body positioning ect…. Coaching up.

If you think just being born GREAT is all it takes, you should be best at what ever you do, are you??(not a personal attach)

Once the “Raw” talent is developed, it takes continual “coaching up” to maintain / improve it, otherwise no one (including Stallworth & AB) would get better.

There definitions of coaching up that cover a wide variety of training, there is also definitions of very narrow skilled specifics to exact talent being coached up.
