Did anyone see it ??? He was a little Tomlin-esck in his answers.

You couldn’t hear what the reporter question was so that made it very hard to follow as Kahn’s answers were catering to what the fan wanted to hear. Short and condescending to a degree…………..

No link and just my take……………. Maybe there was a better one out there??? He was at the combine.

He did say neither QB from last year is on the team so they better get busy on that…….. I’d tend to agree, but a condescending answer, it’s exactly what I’d expect at this juncture of the game. Don’t want to tip your hand too early………. So to speak

I read some tidbits from it. I know they will address WR and QB. I am sure they will bring in free agents on both sides of the ball. Not sure it will result in what the fans want but nonetheless I enjoy three agency and the draft. They could stay in that mode for all I care.

I do think if they trot out either WB from last year that offense will continue to struggle.

What i think I'm hearing said is that they are already looking in the nfl scrapheap for used, disgruntled players and other damaged goods. Due diligence! That's what stupid Podcaster will say.

It was VERY hard to hear the reporters questions, but I didn't think the answers were condescending, short and vague sure...But it's like you said, don't tip your cap. It's why I don't understand the point of even having them. They aren't going to give any answers that you can actually learn anything new.

They could trot out that offense...schematicly and philosophically they are going to struggle. Doesn't matter who is under center. Hopefully this is the off season Tomlin opens up his eyes and makes changes on both sides of the ball. It will have to be a Tomlin on his own changing it up. It is obvious that Rooney is happy with the status quo.

Here are a triplet of some things he actually said

1). Yes, He has spoken with both exiting QBs.

2) that means each QB.

3). Broderick Jones will be starting at LT from the get go, OTAs and forward. Anything team oriented will reflect Jones to LT.

My take:
Fauntanu will be the starting at RT. You will have Jones / Samalu (sp) / Frazier / McCormick / Fauntanu. Now they need to play these guys there from day one. None of this ****-ing musical chair bull-****, give the player the time/snaps to develope his skill to the best it can be.

McCormick may be a variable, but the kid has done well for the 4th round. I’m not accepting the “for the 4th rounder”, he did pretty good for a rookie thrown into play and in this system. I know he is a hard worker as his alma mater coaching has said he is a very HARD worker. His off-season should be the same hardworking as from his past. It’s a wait and see, but I’d hope his sophomore season is improved. My only hard to swallow is the OL coach is still here, I hope Mason can overcome that obstacle.

I think McCormick will do well. He played well for most of his season as the starter. I remember commenting on how good he and Frazier looked. He seemed to slow down later in the season due to the rookie wall and/or the 3 games in 11 days. I think Jones will look much better at his natural LT position especially since he should get an entire offseason to get back into things.

If Jobes pans out at LT, this OL potentially can be the best OL we have had since Cowhers days...

Assuming the backup swing tackle is a vet brought in, I am fine with not using any of the 8 draft picks on oline this year... we have interior depth and dont need another developmental tackle right now...

Who is the interior depth? Daniels and Herbig are both FA's. So are Ryan McCollum and Max Scharping.

110% agree. and that right side of the line is suddenly mean.

i'd seen rumor that we might go for Trey Smith (KC) to add to the OL. If so, McCormick becomes solid depth. And the OL is as good as any in the league.

No line that is just one player away from Turnstile Dan Moore is as good as any in the league.
It's better than whatever team Turnstile Dan is on, and the rest must be earned.

I think McCormick needs a little more seasoning.:yo:

Almost every team in the league is short on line depth. Moore was not as bad many think. He was serviceable and will make a nice paycheck.

Love the enthusiasm here, but good as any in the league………… Do you remember a guy named Meyers ?

But it's not just one player in this case. It's two. Fautanu missed most of his rookie year, so he's one player. Jones is moving back to his natural spot, the spot that got the Steelers to trade up and grab him, that's two players. And Dan Moore not being on the line counts as a third player. It would be a major overhaul even if a few of the names are the same.

People forget that Jones stepped in for Moore when he got hurt and played GREAT against the Ravens at LT in '23.

I hear yaz insanity, but also am advocating for these OL players to practice at these positions from day one. None of this musical chair practice time, just to see how versatile and if a better fit ……… something this HC seems to be high on. These guys need a full OTAs / TCamp to hone back into their newly acquired (but should have been there day one of draft)/mostly Jones).

This line could be very good if they can over-come OL coach and scheme.

The free advice offered in this thread is valuable. Thank you.

If for some reason you are able to garner cash from it, we all (just me) expect our cut…………..

EDIT: Give my cut to Lunar, he needs the help with getting his mistress’ dental work done……

it is just one player because the only name change was Moore for Fautanu.

Hopefully they are serviceable.

Looks like Trey Smith was tagged today so he’s gone. Not really disappointed considering the team has bigger needs and if I’m not mistaken the top guards were getting around 20 million per last year.
