People on this board were worried about the cancer AB would bein the locker room if he didn't get his way. The truth of the matter is that Tomlin is the cancer we need to cut away. Allowing AB to be late for meetings, not having to live in the same conditions in training camp, blowing off a game and still getting paid. Tomlin has lost this team. Whether or not he has his winning season next year, which I highly doubt, this team is finished. There is nothing to keep the next prima donna in line when they decide they can get a better deal elsewhere if they act up enough.

Well we are stuck with him. I think the majority wish him gone, but what can we do about it?

nothing

The reality is all parties played a hand in this mess. Tomlin, Rooney, Colbert, and especially the two ******** that are no longer with us.

Now we can hope that with the distractions gone, they can be a team.

D is still suspect too, but all we can do is hope for he best.

And expect nothing.

Nothing.

Sit it out. Its good for your mental health. I didn't watch a down in 16 or 18. Lurked a bit in 17. What a waste of time. I've been a fan since the days of Stautner and Big Daddy - thick and thin. This regime isn't worth the strain.

Man not sure I could not watch. But I have learned to expect a lot less.

I'm not sure I would use the word Cancer. I would say this. Everything evolves and changes. I know the Steelers have their way of doing things. They are proud of it. But everything needs changes once in a while. Clearly the message has worn thin and it is time to move forward with new eyes and ideas. When you know how things are gonna roll all the time you get complacent.

Art II doesn’t get it and there lies your problem. He’s weak at GM and HC and that spells recipe for disaster. Colbert’s gotten too much credit where it wasn’t deserved with personnel moves in F/A and the draft while working with Cowher. Now take a look at his record with Tomlin.
Colbert looks like an idiot making statements that the team would receive fair value for Brown or there would be no trade. Then he pulls this garbage with a third and a fifth. He just made the team the laughingstock of the sports world. Hell, we got a third for Bryant.
Team headed in the wrong direction under Rooney, Colbert, and Tomlin.

I already made sure they didn't renew my NFL ticket. I'll be fishing, going to the gym, taking long Sunday drives down the Florida coast in my blue beast and probably doing yardwork.

I can't deal with what this organization is becoming and what the NFL has become.

It's no big deal.

I wouldn’t say Cancer. I would say he is the reason that the Steelers and in the situation they are in, and 100% the reason why they are underachievers. It’s bad enough he gets out coached almost weekly, and now he cannot control anything or anyone on his team. These are actionable offenses IMHO.

I'm going to say Colbert is good. He give the Steelers better talent, he doesn't coach them. While he does swing and miss badly at times, over the course of his tenure, he has drafted many pro bowl players, and soon to be a fame hall of fame players. Tomlin under achieves with the talent and really is not a good head coach at all. This problem is compounded by Art Rooney II. He's is a soft hearted welcome fool for problem players to walk over. We just saw that twice.

The biggest problem is Art Rooney II, as he does not fire Tomlin, but might opt not to renew his contract if the Steelers miss the playoffs two games in a row. We've got too much talent for that. 5-10 years from now, the What if Tomlin was fired in 2018 will still be an active thread.

At its basic, cancer is the inability for a cell to die. What happens is mutations, and then the problem spreads. I don't think it's fair to compare a human being to cancer, but from a football standpoint, Tomlin has escaped being fired, and lost control of his team. The problem players he could not control are no longer here, but he's older in terms of years coached and IMO finished winning championships. And yes, he did it with 20-21 staring bill Cohwer players

AB was the cancer. Maybe Tomlin is an enabler, but the cancer is now gone from the locker room. They will move on without him. They have no other choice now. There are options out there to replace AB. I'd give Tomlin a very short leash to get this team back on track and out of the news. The 2019 season will be interesting and how Colbert and Tomlin fill in the gaping holes now. If they could bring in John Brown and Golden Tate, the WR corps immediately get respectable and take some pressure off JuJu. Tomlin needs to get creative, but rule with an iron fist.

New MT Presser:

Whether youre Tomlin fan or not, we all know you cant put the genie back in the bottle. he has lost the locker room. Something was horribly wrong last couple seasons. It was probably resentment over star treatment some of players received. We got the brakes beat off of us by borttles and Jacksonville, worse lost in playoff history of this team and No changes.... next season we don’t even get in the playoffs again no changes just excuses. Of but of coarse there are changes because change is inevitable and but the only changes were players and the only good position coach worth mentioning wanting out. Face it, the good ship “ Pittsburgh Steelers” is not only taking on water its beginning to sink and the skippers only solution is to rearrange the deck chairs. I’ve said before but it’s time to blow it up and clean house... time for the Duce to turn things over to the Tres. And time to fire Coach Tomlin.

It would be great to wake up tomorrow to a tomlin resignation a cowher rehire, a cancelation of the Brown trade and a actual chance of winning number 7. But it would be a dream

Ron Burgandy, thanks for the clip. Humor goes a long way.

The late Al Davis has to be laughing in his grave.

Meh, a lot of people wanted Cowher gone too, especially after he finished 8-8 and no playoffs the year after winning the SB. He's not leaving his cushy TV gig. I'd take him as a GM though.
When he left I think it was time for him to move on, just like I think it's Tomlin's time to move on now.

Get it over with, fire his *** now. Give us a chance moving forward. With Tomlin at the helm, there is no hope.

The agents had a huge part in this... especially Bell's agent. I am annoyed that a player can go to a team that he is being traded to and tell them he isn't going to play for them when he has three years left and has a no trade clause. They Steelers should be able to go after Brown and his agent for damages and get some of their money back from Brown.
